Poor palms in Bowen

More of Bowen.

How much difference a year makes - the above photo is the same place taken this past winter after cyclone Debbie, the below photo taken 2016 before the cyclone.

Caravan wash day.

Went exploring in a new suburb in Bowen and came across these two houses, the one below - no one lives in it and it doesn't appear to be for sale either.
Both houses have a nice view of the sea.

A sweet little bay Rose Bay Beach in Bowen here, post from 2016.

    1. There is a law that houses have to be built to the Shires cyclone regulations - the new houses.

  2. I believe ALL new homes / buildings in the cyclone prone regions of Australia
now have to be BY law cyclone proof ( Well as best as modern engineering/building
    advancements are at presently.)
However keeping ahead of cyclonic fury I guess is not easy.
Anyhow they are magnificent homes and no doubt the views over the Whitsundays etc are priceless.
    Great photos.

  4. Poor palms. Fortunately they do withstand such gales and recover, eventually. I really like the last house.

    1. It's a nice house that last one, there were many homes I could have taken a photo of but with people peering at you as you drive or stop by it's not that easy even though it only takes a minute to take a photo.

  5. The palms do look so different without their foliage, hope they recover quickly.
No one lives in that gorgeous house?? What a shame. Perhaps they're on a long overseas holiday with furniture in storage? We'll never know.

    1. No one lives in that house, we sat in the vehicle for awhile and no sign of anyone. It's a shame with such a good view, guess someone will turn up eventually.

  6. I love Rose Bay....when I was living and working out at Collinsville...that is where I would stay when I escaped for the odd weekends. At the Rose Bay Caravan Park...I always stayed in a little cabin called "Laguna"...right on the foreshore, looking across to Gloucester Island.

    Thanks for the memories. :)

    1. Lovely spot there. Not much parking and the resort seems appears to have a near private beach, out the door onto the sand.
You are welcome re memories, sometimes is just takes a photo or two to bring them flooding back.

  7. Bien se nota el efecto del ciclón en las palmeras.

Las casa tienen grandes ventanales, para aprovechar la situación privilegiada, de cara al mar.

  9. We all wonder why someone is not living in that house - we will never know why not.
Those palms were certainly battered about in the cyclone.
