Those storms are truly vicious. Obviously a lot of rebuilding still to be done. I don't know what the insurance regulations are like in Queensland but in most parts of North America (if not all) where hurricanes and tornadoes are regular weather features your insurance has to be very specific in terms of its coverage, and even then the insurance company will try to find any loophole to avoid paying out. Floods and wildfires are also getting to be deadly annual events and I know that we just upgraded our insurance accordingly.
Seeing your photos now, it is hard to believe that when they were taken 3-4 months after the cyclone that houses are still in that condition. I would have thought they would have been demolished quite quickly from a safety point of view.
These are great pictures!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Catarina.
DeleteI hope they rebuild houses soon
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they all can get on with it.

ReplyDeleteI believe it's the same in Australia as you have said for your area - that's why it takes so long for the insurance companies to sort things out.
DeleteThe world's weather has gone rogue.
ReplyDeleteYes it has, but can also remember long ago the weather doing similar.
DeleteLove those sky shots.
ReplyDeleteI love clouds almost as much as I love trees.
Both are nature at it's best - well usually.
DeleteStorms can be so bad, I do hope the rebuild goes well for people affected.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Hopefully it all should be finished by the end of the year - cyclones are not good at all.
DeleteI love the way you captured the clouds at the beach.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, they are rather awesome those clouds.
DeleteCyclone Debbie really worked a number on so many people...
ReplyDeleteIt did, on the islands and a lot of the east coast.
DeleteLos ciclones son terribles y siempre proxucen destrozos, lo importante es que no se cobre vĂctimas humanas.
ReplyDeleteMe gustan las nubes que has captado.
Besos
Cyclones are dreadful and I certainly wouldn't like to be in one.

ReplyDeleteThanks. Was not good to see all that mess for sure when it was so nice the year before.

ReplyDeleteInsurance would be the key issue I expect, or if no insurance maybe the people can't afford to remove the remains.
