The Big Banana at Coffs Harbour a busy place with an eatery with all things tasting banana flavour.
Ice skating rink, mini golf and a few other entertaining things to do and see.
We arrived late in the day so therefore wasn't so busy as they were getting ready to close.
Welcome to the gift shop
Many children were taking turns sitting of the mouses knee.
I didn't know there was a gift shop and cafe there, although thinking about it, why wouldn't there be? Did you eat in the cafe? I'm curious about the "all things banana flavour"
ReplyDeleteWe didn't eat there as the Cafe people were getting ready to close, plus we didn't feel like a banana split, banana milk shake, ice cream etc...
DeleteA link of their menu http://www.bigbanana.com/rides-attractions/cafe/
We do have a lot of 'big' things don't we? Banana, pineapple, merino, potato, guitar and rather a lot more which escape me at the moment.
ReplyDeleteWe certainly do have many big things in Australia - guitar, parrot at Kimba, mango, prawns, crabs to add to your list there.
DeleteI love this banana and monkey and mouse.... This place must be wonderful cafe and shop.
ReplyDeleteSpent sometime in the gift shop, all kinds of banana related objects.
DeleteI wonder which came first, the banana or the pineapple.
ReplyDeleteWell that's a good one Andrew.
DeleteOn October 1971 the big pineapple was opened.
22 December 1964 for the big banana, according to Wikipedia.
Such a beautiful place !! I would sit on this bench with a mouse!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, dear friend !
Quite nice there Ela.
DeleteThat looks like a fun place to visit.
ReplyDeleteLots to do there for the young ones Mildred.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThis is funny!! Great pictures.
Greetings, Marco
:) Marco, our 'big' things are amusing if never seen or heard of before.
DeleteLooks nice and funny!
ReplyDeleteSussi, strange to see for you as I expect you don't have such things in your country :)
DeleteThey even serve big banana burgers!!! I was looking at their menu. : ))
ReplyDeleteGood on you - yes something for everyone on that menu :)
DeleteThey had a banana stand in a tv show called Arrested Development, this reminds me of that
ReplyDeleteDid they! Interesting.
DeleteI am very fond of a banana and wonder what banana flavoured things they sold - cakes! icecream! perhaps.
ReplyDeleteA link to the big banana Rosemary - there you will find a menu.

ReplyDeleteKisses
Oh that is for sure.
DeleteBeen to the big banana a few times would love to take Leo to see it one day
ReplyDeleteWell you might get there Jo-Anne.
DeleteI was waiting for your Big Banana picture - no post on Coffs Harbour would be complete without one.
ReplyDeleteThought you would be waiting :) I didn't disappoint.
DeleteLooks like a fun place. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteThe monkey reminds me of what's going on in the White House these days. --- and that REALLY is a big banana!
ReplyDeleteHa! Sounds like a lot of monkey businesses to me too from afar :)
DeleteThe Big Banana has aged not too bad. So many of the "big" things have fallen out of favour.
ReplyDeleteSome have and some have been repaired or replaced when necessary.
DeleteIt's good to see most of them doing rather well as we travel.
Are we love "big" here in the wonderful Land of Oz! :)
ReplyDeleteWe do indeed Lee all over Australia.
