After Port Macquarie we headed to Heatherbrae in NSW for one night before heading towards Sydney, I planned on the map to go west of Sydney and we found our way without getting lost! 5 lanes of traffic in places. We have been into Sydney before but without a caravan.
Port Macquaire Police Station, the newer one then the old one.
Bulahdelah, NSW - the shopping area on a rather steep hill, it's here we had lunch at a lovely park.
Caravan Park at near Heatherbrae NSW
The amenities block below and restaurant where we had a meal.
Heatherbrae is the mark on the map not that far from Sydney 162 klms
First lot of flowers we had seen since leaving home. Well flowers that we also have at home.
Very similar to the small towns I visited in British Columbia last summer.
ReplyDeleteI suppose a lot of small towns in this world would be similar in some areas.
DeletePort Macquarie is a beautiful spot. getting expensive though.
ReplyDeleteOh, really. It is a nice place.
DeleteBoth Police Stations look nice, even the new one I can imagine as a private home. It doesn't look like an "official" building.
ReplyDeleteI hope shoppers atop that hill never drop their oranges, or cans of anything.
The house next to the Police Station is a lovely old place, it's not got the usual 'sign's' all over the place as to what is is now.
DeleteBe dreadful if one dropped something that rolled and went down that hill, I bet someone has done it. It's a steep hill as well.
The houses there are very nice... The old Police Station is like a home house.
ReplyDeleteWe ave also these flowers.
Maybe in years gone by the old police station was a house as well.
DeleteI recall when my parents and I lived in police houses there was an office that looked part of the house.
neat and beautiful place this port is .
ReplyDeletegreat photos ,loved the park looks worth visiting.
flowers are so pretty dear Margaret!
Thanks baili..always nice to see pretty flowers.
DeleteI'll stick around here in this nice, quiet little place while you traverse Sydney. I like the quiet. :)
ReplyDeletePeaceful is small towns compared to larger cities - peace and quiet is nice for awhile.
DeleteNo beach! [pouty face] ... I fell so let down [wink]
ReplyDeleteGee! Slipped my mind to put a beach/sea photo :)
DeleteNext time might do though.
I really like the blue skies
ReplyDeleteWe certainly do have those here in most winters Wong.
DeleteThanks for sharing your trip & taking us to beautiful spots where I'll probably never have the opportunity to see in person
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
You are welcome Christine.
DeleteI always enjoy looking at photos of other places in this world, that's how I too travel :)
Wonderful photos, and such a serene looking place. Greetings to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Blogoratti.
DeleteQuiet place to rest until arriving to the destination definitive.
ReplyDeleteKisses
Good place to rest before heading west of Sydney making sure to have chosen the right way to go.
Deleteshopping area is not too big..
ReplyDeleteThere is more shopping area there Gosia, just didn't see it all.
DeleteAre the buildings really that stunning or are you so good with a camera? I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteThose buildings are as I see them with no fiddling after taking.
DeleteJust me and my camera, but they do look nicer in person as the camera doesn't see things quite like we do, but it does a good job.
I doubt I'll ever go there because the flight is so long, so I'll have to live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteA very long flight from the northern hemisphere and a few stop overs for the night as well.
DeleteWell at least you will get to see some of Australia through my eyes and lens.
Nice post---- and huge thanks to your prime minister for his imitation of the Big Orange Clown!
ReplyDeleteHa ha - Bill.
DeleteIt was marvelous and certainly got more World coverage than Malcolm Turnbull envisaged or as Turnip Top Trump's spokeman calls our PM - TRUMBEL!
Maybe a very naughty word is used now???
Colin
PS: Margaret - initially deleted for spelling correction - sorry.
Ha! Was a good wasn't it - meant as a joke and taken as such :)
DeleteColin, I saw the comment had been deleted, so fix it, it's all gone now :)
I don't think I've been through Heatherbrae but as for the Police stations
ReplyDeleteespecially the old one, they were also the residence of the police officer in charge of that town in years ago.
Maybe you should have veered off to the west for a couple of days, you were not that far off the magical area of Rothbury and Pokolkin and those marvelous vineyards!
Or have you done them on a previous trip?
Colin
Yes you are correct on home being police station as well, lived in some with my parents as you know doubt did as well.
DeleteNever been to those places - we have plenty of Vineyards here in Tasmania, many which are not that far from home.
We have also been to the Barossa Valley several years ago, but once again didn't do the vineyards as Shanks Pony doesn't drink!
Of course I know where Heatherbrae is drive through it on the way to Port
ReplyDeleteI bet you know the whole area well Jo-Anne as it's not too far from where you live :)
DeleteYou made it through Sydney! That would have been fun towing your van.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Heatherbrae. Looks like a pretty little spot.
No worries going through Sydney thank goodness.. A lot of traffic though.
DeleteThanks re photos
Beautiful, the streets, houses and the CARAVAN!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob.
