Sure is a jam packed marina. Isn't there a huge fishing business in Townsville??? Wonderful words on the cenotaph......most country towns have really such well cared for memorials. A credit to the RSL, the councils and the towns people. The Strangler Fig is really something - you can see why it got that name. Great report on Townsville, Margaret.
Not many more boats could fit. Looked for the fishing industry and couldn't find much at all! Surprising. You are right about Cenotaphs being in country towns, they are always well kept and show much pride. That fig was a big one, but then most are up that way. Thanks :)
Townsville played a very important role during the Second World War...and of course, Lavarack Barracks is a major Australia Army Base. And, not to forget the RAAF Base as well.

Strangler Fig in the last photo, I think. I note there are lots of newer apartment buildings.
