Arabella! The British Blue.

My youngest sister in law has a cat called 'Arabella' she is a British Shorthair the pedigreed version of the traditional British domestic cat, with a distinctively chunky body, dense coat and broad face.  Also my eldest daughter in law has one and her name is Chloe.  These cats are kept inside, need a lot of brushing and leave their cat hair everywhere.  A good scratching pole is a necessity for Arabella.

I used to own a few cats when first married when we lived on a farm.  When we came to the city to live, all the other cats had gone expect one which I brought to the city and he eventually died of old age.  No more cats after that.

  1. Janice, those are very unusual cats, and I'm not a real fan of the look. I'm a dog lover, so cats are a real attraction for me....but I still like the ordinary cat.

    1. I prefer the normal cat too. I like some dogs...we have had dogs but they all gone to heaven now, don't think we will have anymore for the time being...

    1. Very thick coat but if touched out comes the fur. I'm pleased I don't own that breed.

  4. I am a cat lover and unapologetic about it and a lover of the mongrels, the strays, the unpure in genetics. We have bred a lot of animals badly, like the poor English bulldog whose underbite renders him hopeless and the Persian, who can barely breath or eat. I'll take a stray anyday, but this blue kitty with the wide set eyes and upturned nose, is quite pretty.

  8. I am not a cat person, I don't hate them or anything I am just not that into pets, really I am not a dog person either I just don't have the patience to deal with pets, maybe if I end up living alone when I am old I might get a kitten/cat but that is a long time off if ever

    1. My parents when alive were not into cats and dogs, so I can relate to what you are saying.

  10. Dog person here too but that face and those eyes are mesmerizing! Almost creepy! Beautiful coat, I'm just glad that it's not me who has to brush it.

  13. Great shots of the pussy but I'm afraid I have no time for cats. Too many reasons to put here.
