The Local Supermarket Woolworths (nothing to do with the USA one) which is owned by Woolworths Group Limited now Group was founded in 1924 and is an Australian multinational retail and finance company, primarily known for its operation or retail chain Woolworths Supermarkets across Australia and Woolworths in New Zealand, as well department stores of various kinds.
Recently and still on going in some areas of our local supermarket upgrades have been done, new everything and it's looking good. Took these photos last week and the new look. I choose to take photos when people moved away from the camera and being around lunch time it wasn't very busy.
All stores of Wollies as we call them will be upgraded eventually and the Kings Meadows store is the first one to be done in Australia!
Waiting to go through the checkout.
Self service checkouts.
Small area of the carpark and Sails will be put on top of the frames for shade.
It is huge!! I am sure you can find everything you need there. : )
ReplyDeleteYes everything one needs Catarina, don't need to go to another supermarket after doing the shop there.
DeleteI haven't shopped in a store that big in years and I don't missed it at all. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's what you get used to Bill. The walk does us good.
DeleteSo much stuff!
ReplyDeleteYes, and the shelves are not always real full either because as fast as they are stocked, the things are bought.
DeleteHuge long shelves.
ReplyDeleteYes they are Anne. I don't have any trouble finding anything either.
DeleteEs bastante amplio y tiene buenos y anchos pasillos, para divisar bien los productos, incluso si te vas cruzando con otras personas.
ReplyDeleteFeliz fin de semana.
The aisles are good if not too crowded, they could be wider but then that could be wasted space.
DeleteWow. It is looking big. And impersonal.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather big I supposek, I'm used to it. Having shopped in many Wollies on the mainland it is rather a big store.
DeleteThat's pretty huge!
ReplyDeleteI guess it is, the store services a big area.
DeleteLooks large and roomy which I prefer small crowded shops are annoying especially when I am using my motorised scooter.
ReplyDeleteWell Jo-Anne, it would be a nightmare on your scooter in there or anywhere for that matter, but at least you can look around and toot.
DeleteLarge store for sure. I pretty much rely on the two-duopoly franchise for perishable items.
ReplyDeleteOh do you. We shop at Wollies probably every 10 to 14 days as there is no need to go everyday or second day. We buy out meat from a butcher's shop at Longford the shop is attached to the abattoir there. We do need to buy milk a few times but get that at the IGA up the road
DeleteIt does look like a nice store-- and a big one. I prefer a large store once a week. Gas has gotten a tad pricey for multiple trips to town.
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky as the supermarket is just down the road in Kings Meadows.
DeleteWhat a big store, I think everything is for sale there, there are stores like that in Germany, I was there a few months ago, I didn't know what I saw.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Irma
It looks bigger than it probably is Irma, still a fair size. When they are really big stores it's hard to recall what you saw.
DeleteI hate doing food and household goods shopping.
ReplyDeleteMany people living around here have their food delivered to their door prior to ordering what they want online. However, although I hate shopping I still prefer to choose my own fruit and veg, and not have someone else decide what we receive.
I'm certainly with you on the fresh fruit and veggies, like to choose my own. We too can have our groceries delivered but we haven't done that as yet prefering to shop outselves whilst we can and the supermarket is just down the road.
DeleteI am pretty sure we shopped at a Woolworths when we were in Tasmania.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you would have and even the rival, Coles.
DeleteUm grande supermercado.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

Thank you and it is a big one.
DeleteI remember Woolworths well. We had one in my hometown. We used to do our shopping then hop upstairs for a cup of tea and a cake. Not sure if it is connected with yours either. It looks a real nice store!
ReplyDeleteNo your Woolworths is not connected Denise neither in the UK or the US. Woothworths the name was registered by the Sydney founders as a dare to see if it would be allowed and it was.
DeleteWalking in this store will give you unexpected good exercise.
ReplyDeleteThat is for sure which I/we both enjoy.
DeleteBien captado ese espacio de interior.
ReplyDeleteFeliz domigo, amiga
Deletethank you Ildefonso.
It's quite big. Your photos are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria.
DeleteHaha. first aisle was the toilet rolls!! :)
ReplyDeletewe used to have a Woolworths in England many years ago. I wonder if it is the same firm?
A shortage of toilet rolls in 2019-2020-2021 in the midst of Covid.
DeleteNo your Woolworths has/had nothing to do with ours..
A very big store with a lot of stuff.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.
Thank you and yes a lot of food there and other stuff.
DeleteOnce Coles and Woolies had the supermarket world tied up. I wonder what difference alternatives like Aldi have made.
ReplyDeleteWoolies was and is only in Australia Hels, as the other Wollies in other parts of the world are not related to our Wollies, I'm not sure about Coles.
DeleteWe don't have Aldi here but I expect Aldi would make some different in the cities it's stores are in.
The bigger the store, the greater the stuff variety - and that counts. Shopping at Woolworths can be quite an adventure.
ReplyDeleteIt's good so many items are sold in Woolworths down here Duta, it saves going to other places to buy food, well sometimes it does.
DeleteOh it looks wonderful. Finding that perfect grocery store is so important.. you can find everything you want all in one place.
ReplyDeleteWe can find all food stuff in that grocery store that we require. Sometimes we venture out to a 'fruit shop' which sells some bulk products, or smaller, items that come directly off their farm.
DeleteThe higher the size of the store, the more varied the selection of goods.

That's true.
DeleteLooks good but we had our Springwood store updated this year in June. Its fabulous too but I do my shopping on line and then just go to the pick up place and they put it in the boot for me,
ReplyDeleteWell that's good, we have that here too, order online and collect...great idea.
DeleteYour photographs show this big store well.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thank you Jan.
DeleteWow exquisite images of great market dear Margaret .while visit to Bahria Town Karachi we visited Imteyaz market it was huge and looked like this one but this is definitely bigger .thanks for virtual trip :)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Baili. Always interesting to see supermarkets from other countries.
DeleteΚαλημερα Margaret, όποτε έχεις χρόνο κάνε μια επίσκεψη στο blog μου
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link also..
DeleteSe ve muy bien. Feliz tarde Margaret.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa.
DeleteI used to not like big stores, but over time I liked them. In a big store you can buy everything and save time. It is also important that there is a large and convenient parking lot, because when buying a lot, it is best to have a car.
ReplyDeleteWe have it good here as the supermarket is just down the road plenty of parking and can do all the food shopping in one place, pack it in the car and drive home.
DeleteVery neat store
ReplyDeleteIt is clean and tidy, more so since their upgrade.
