I am not awareof Penny Farthing races here but they put on displays at fetes which also show how the men and women dressed at the time. Knee breeches for men similar to the man in your sculpture but long dresses for women!
That sounds interesting then Rosemary. The women down here wear long period costumes when the Penny Farthing race day is on and riders come from all over Australia to compete.
Indeed Andrew, there was a Catholic Church in Evandale - a link https://www.evandaletasmania.com/st-marys-catholic-church.html#:~:text=Mary's%20at%20Evandale%20was%20the,the%20porch%20facing%20the%20side.
Both photos are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria.
DeleteI suppose it's fun watching that kind of championship.
ReplyDeleteAs for the bronze statue, the dog's look at the bike's rider is priceless!
Yes that dogs look is rather priceless never noticed it until you mentioned it..I'm not into watching the penny Farthing races but so many are.

DeleteA mí me llama también mucho la atención la farola. Además de iluminar de noche son muy decorativas.
ReplyDeleteBesos.
It is nice that lamp.
DeleteTime Traveller statue looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteYes it does look good and big enough not to fall over it.lol
DeleteSin duda, la farola tiene su toque a la hora de iluminar 🤦♂️ Buen reportaje, Margaret 👏
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
I'm always pleased when I see these older type lamps for some reason..
DeleteOnly yesterday I watched a program about a man repairing a Penny Farthing and thought how difficult they would be to ride. Love that lamp too.
ReplyDeleteWell that's amazing then you see my post, this doe happen sometimes.
DeleteHa ha, how does to ride on Penny Farthing??????????
ReplyDeleteWith great difficulty I expect...lol
DeleteThe city looks so European. Such a finesse and artistic.
ReplyDeleteGuess it does by photos I've seen, being built way back by convicts and immigrants on models of homes back from whence they came I suppose.
DeleteInteresting that there was a Church of England and Presbyterian church but not a Catholic church.

DeleteThe artist really captured the dog!
ReplyDeleteHe sure did Bill.
DeleteMust have been quite a chore just to get up onto the seat.
ReplyDeleteHave seen them getting up a big jump and often they get up from the back wheel.
DeleteThe time trailer is Captivating but the dog's gesture is really touching and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings to you and your family my friend!
Thank you Baili.
