At Mildura, Victoria situated on the banks of the Murray River. Here we have a man on the left fishing and the bridge called the George Chaffey Bridge.
Silver City Highway is 688 km long...this is just a small part of the road past Mildura.
The map shows Tasmania at the bottom and the marker shows Mildura NSW.
Yes - Australia has it's own border even though we are one country/nation. We have the State Tasmania (Tas), Victoria (Vic), New South Wales (NSW), Queensland (Q'ld), Northern Territory (NT), South Australia (SA), Western Australia WA, and Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The ACT is the Capital of Australia. Each State and Territory has a Government which governs that State and not other Sates or Territories. Each are different in their governing. We don't have border passes or such, we can drive from one State or Territory to another - until Covid-19 and if the borders are closed we have to have permission to enter and that apparently isn't easy!
Very enjoyable Margaret, thank you :) And I know I have mentioned this before but I also enjoy the maps that you add to your blog posts. Always trying to improve my geography :)
Es un río muy caudaloso y has mostrado unas buenas vistas de él. Me gustán las nubes que salpican el cielo, en donde está la carretera, que quizás tengas que recorrer.
The mighty Murray is looking good. Silver City Highway is the most rubbish strewn road in Australia we have ever travelled along. Quite depressing really.
The river and environ is very pleasing site, and i google George Chaffey Bridge as a road bridge in Australia that carries the Sturt Highway across the Murray River from Buronga to Mildura etc.
Thank you very much Margaret for showing us that beautiful country, for sharing with us tnata natural beauty, almost in the antipodes of ours, I say almost because New Zealand is the antipodes, but so far and so close by the photos and post. Best regards
Как интересно делится Австралия: западная, северная, южная и... королевы?

DeleteVery enjoyable Margaret, thank you :) And I know I have mentioned this before but I also enjoy the maps that you add to your blog posts. Always trying to improve my geography :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise. When I show these places that most haven't heard of if I think of it I put a map.

Thanks.
DeleteThe clouds over that way often looked to me as if we could hop on one then another :)
Um rio calmo e tranquilo.
ReplyDeleteGostei de ver as fotos.

The river is beautiful in some parts and not so in other areas I've seen it..however it's rather nice there.
DeleteSo beautiful! The highway looks really impressive.
ReplyDeleteLong highway and often very straight.
DeleteLoved seeing the mighty Murray - looking beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe river sure does look good at Mildura EC.
DeleteAt first I thought that I could see a black swan on the first photo but on a second look I think that it is possibly a pelican!
ReplyDeleteYes Rosemary a pelican hanging around that man fishing :)
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteNice pictures.
Great to see that long highway and the clouds in the sky.
Greetings, Marco
Very long highway Marco.
DeleteThank you.
The grand old Murray...so many stories surround the mighty waterway. :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed many stories Lee, I'm sure if we knew most of them the book would be rather large.
DeleteSuch nice photos of a nice place
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.

ReplyDeleteOne guess and we know who puts the rubbish on the side of the road Andrew.
DeleteBellissime queste fotografie di distese interminabili, senza case.
ReplyDeleteThat's for sure, so many roads do not have houses as one couldn't live there for many reasons.
DeleteI've always wanted to visit Mildura after I saw cooking show from there.
ReplyDeleteOh did you. It is rather a pleasant place with everything one needs from memory.
DeleteIt's a long way from Tasmania to Mildura!
ReplyDeleteA very long way indeed and our first visit back in 2003.
DeleteA long and winding less road, I would fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure many people would fall asleep and do except the driver.
DeleteI never fell asleep too much to see even though it looks barren.
The riverboat was especially interesting.
ReplyDeleteOne of the nicer ones I've seen Bill, not that I've seen many.
DeleteBeautiful river view. Nice reflection in the 2nd image. Would be nice to take a tour on the river boat.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy. We never stayed long enough to have a boat ride.
DeleteBeautiful place
