Headed to Gilgandra to stop a few nights. It was 29 deg C in mid October Monday 14, 2019 when we arrived. We drove around in our vehicle for awhile each day, that way we could keep cooler.
These photos just a small part of the scenery near the town.
We have stayed in Gilgandra before and a post of some of the town is here.
The house above just there in the paddock with no shelter just a few trees and some distance from the highway.
Thanks for the photos of Gilgandra, another nice NSW town and another one we only stopped at for fuel. It seems to be the way we travel, but we do stop and enjoy many of the towns too, just timing really as we are always on the lookout for an overnight stop around mid afternoon and usually stay overnight in the free camping spots.
Well that's good Lee, I'm doing travel through my own photos as there will be no travelling within Australia this winter, maybe later in the year for us in Tasmania :)
It looks hot and dry. You captured the town's beauty in the link you provided. Definitely a nice place to visit and explore. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt was hot and dry but it's a lovely town, we have stayed there several times over the years often in a motel as we didn't always take our caravan.
DeleteA very dry landscape. It has its beauty nevertheless.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful in it's own way.
DeleteIlove the landscape!
ReplyDeleteBare in places, just grass.
DeletePocos árboles hy, que puedan dar sombra, ante los calientes rayos de sol.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Just a few trees not many for that house.
DeleteDefinitely hot and dry. And flat. It has an austere beauty of its own though.
ReplyDeleteIt's like many inland towns with it's own beauty even if it was dry and hot.
DeleteOlá Margaret!
ReplyDeleteQue triste!
Estou habituada a ver paisagens verdejantes.
Um beijinho de luz.🌹

So many places we travelled last year were of such dry areas, but there was a drought and I'm not sure it's broken as yet.
DeleteSo lovely
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Rosie.
DeleteWe have often stopped in Gilgandra, it's rather nice town and I do know what you mean when travelling.
I expect several clumps of trees might improve the environment rather a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they would, not many trees in that particular area though.
DeleteThere are lovely deserts. Is that a light pole that resembles a saguaro cactus?
ReplyDeleteYes that's a light pole, too perfect for a cacti Bill.
DeleteLooks like a pretty lonely outpost,
ReplyDeleteMost of the outback Australian towns are like that, a long way from another town.
DeleteAnother lovely town!
ReplyDeleteYes Natalia, another :)
DeleteSe ve un lugar poco poblado y bastante árido Margaret.
ReplyDeleteBuen lunes. Cuídate.
Un abrazo.
Not many people in just that area but more in the town Laura.
DeleteIt's wonderful to be able to join you on these travels without me having to leave home! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks,Margaret...keep taking good care. :)

DeleteBuen lugar para visitar, sin duda
ReplyDeleteYes it was and we had a good stay there.
DeleteI enjoy following your tour. I like those big cactus plants.
ReplyDeleteThose cacti are rather large though they do take a long time to get that tall.
DeleteEstá muy bien Margaret, me encantaría visitar Australia. Besos.
ReplyDeleteIt looks such a dry landscape …
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
