It has just everything in it, it's large and takes a long time to view all the displays. Never have I seen such items in the museum that I've never seen before, and how wonderful it was to see things from way back in time, some of those things my grandmother used to use and my great-mother, I can just remember the latter :)
Most of the items on show were donated by a family and families.
I'm showing a few photos over a few posts but won't bore you with all of it.
Remember if you wish to view these photos in more detail please click on the photo and it will enlarge.
A typical bedroom way back in time.
Above is a scene inside the building with wedding dresses, crockery you name it, it was there.
The old petrol or gasoline bowser and below is an old operating table.
Above is a Sauna!
Below are Steam Engines.
The printing press and an old telephone.
Interesting. I would love to visit this museum and take lots of photos.
ReplyDeleteNancy, I did take so many photos of the museum.
DeleteWhat a great museum, a step back in time!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely.
Deletevery interesting museum! That operating table was like 'woah!'
ReplyDeleteOh yes, it's a screamer :)
DeleteThe old petrol pump is great fun, and I remember that my parents had a black phone.
ReplyDeleteThere was another old petrol pump older that the one I showed.
DeleteMy parents had an old black phone on the wall with a thing like a speaker to speak into.
Wow. That is a museum you could visit time and time again and notice something different each time.
ReplyDeleteYou knew your great-grandmother? Another wow. I never knew any of my grandparents much less further back...
So much in that museum, it truly is amazing.
DeleteYes, remember my maternal great-grandmother very well sitting in her rocking chair by the fire dress in black. Granny was very old but the kettle was always on the hob and food was in the boiler handing from a hook above the fire. Also remember both my grandmothers cooking was done the same way as electricity was some time coming to that part of Tasmania where they lived.
The museum are full items older that we can tell me, beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob. I can remember many of the things used in the home due to my great grandparents and grandparents living in the country where power wasn't available for some time, then when it was they were somewhat sceptical of it for ages.
DeleteEsa variedad de objetos, hace que volvamos la vista atrás y entender la vida de nuestros antepasados.
ReplyDeleteBesos
It certainly does, and we can understand how it took them so long to do things.
Deletegreat place to visit
ReplyDeleteIt is Gosia.
DeleteNothing like poking around a museum like that, especially if you old enough to remember some of the items. Of course we are not. Just theory.
ReplyDeletelol Andrew.
DeleteIt's a well kept museum and certainly worth visiting as it was packed, not like some places sparsely spread about.
So bloody nice I like thhe photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteWell I sure didn't know about this place when I lived up in West Wyalong.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember any of my mates from Temora every mentioning it.
I doubt whether it is a new addition since 1980????????????????
Cheers
Colin
Probably at that time Colin your mates would not have been interested in a museum. Expects it's also grown over the years to what it is today.
DeleteLooks a very interesting museum.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
We found it very interesting.
DeleteThis museum....the town of Temora is unbelievable!!! How wonderful it all is! I do, sincerely, thank you for sharing this with us....with me, Margaret. :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing small town Lee, and such a surprise to us for all the tourist things they have to share with us. A proud town.
DeleteYou are welcome.
What a great place to look around. Great photos and I thank you so much for sharing them :)
ReplyDeleteDenise, you are welcome.
DeleteMy maternal grandparents had a phone like that.
ReplyDeleteOh did they, interesting you remember :)
DeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteI hope these museums are well supported. It is important to maintain this link with the past. You know you are getting old when you visit a place like this and see artifacts from your own childhood!
ReplyDeleteVisitors go there to the museums, some staff are volunteers as we had a good chat with some ladies who work there. Expect they have been quiet lately though.
DeleteOh yes, it's rather odd when you see things your great grandparent used and grandparents and even myself at time due to where I was holidaying at that time.
Que lindas fotografias!
ReplyDeleteReviver o passado é maravilhoso.
Obrigada por ter partilhado tamanhas belezas.🌸💝🌸

DeleteMuseums are always good especially if they are different.
Thanks for showing some of the interesting things in the museum. Sometimes museums seem to all be the same but this one looks really worth a visit.
