Water/Sea of Port Fairy, Victoria.

Water/Sea of Port Fairy.
The Southern Ocean and a water surfer.  To his left there were many rocks in the sea.

Griffiths Island where the mutton birds are.  The Island lies at the mouth of the Moyne River.
Griffiths now has no permanent inhabitants, but is connected to the mainland by a causeway and is accessible on foot. It forms part of the Port Fairy and Belfast Coastline Protection Reserve and, as well as being a tourist attraction, is an important site in the context of the history of European settlement of western Victoria.
There are 80 - 90 species of birds on the Island.

  1. Beautiful water pictures, Janice. The surfing might be a bit dangerous with all those rocks.

    1. They appeared to be rather sharp jaggered rocks Merle, but then they would be smooth on top. Part of the thrill, I expect.

    1. Was quiet and peaceful but of course being late winter last year was a bit chilly, but could put up with that to see the view.

    1. Surfers usually look graceful. I could have surfed once, but not now.

  17. Lovely images. It's always nice to see the different views that you show us. It seems that we rarely hear news of Australia and when we do it's generally because of typhoons, wild fires, floods or other disasters. I guess that's the nature of news, huh?

  18. Yes that is the nature of news. We hear in Australia here similar things from other countries.
