Football here is AFL and not Soccer.
I am not a football fan, and I don't even watch it on TV or listen to it on the Radio.
Jim Bacon (a late Premier of Tasmania) was the driving force behind the rebuilding and getting the Hawthorn Football Team from Melbourne, Victoria to come to Tasmania and play, plus to call it their home ground.

DeleteI never knew that the Hawthorne Club was in Tasmania. Nice stadium. I love watching soccer (real football) they use their feet. I'm going to enjoy watching the World Cup even though Australia doesn't have a chance. They drew a group containing the world champions, Spain and top teams Netherlands and Chile.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you really! :) I'm not a fan of sport but do like a bit of cricket...
