Bellbuoy Beach is not that far from George Town in northern Tasmania, so the sea is Bass Strait.
Dennis and Ros Lawrence cattle farmers decided to subdivide their land for houses.
It's the first time we have been into this area and we didn't go to the beach there.
I took some photos of a few houses in the area, some new, some older.
The map of the area below and Bellbuoy Beach is where the blue indicator is.
If my house faced the sea, I would want a large veranda in front. Two of the houses above look perfect for sitting outside and contemplating the world.
ReplyDeleteThe newer house seem to have that lovely feature of a verandah. I would like the same as you would Hels.
DeleteWhat beautiful houses by the sea.
ReplyDeleteAnd they are all detached, here in the Netherlands there are only a few detached houses, here everything is close together.
Greetings Irma
Oh really. All the houses here by the sea are detached with a bit of land for a lawn plus a garden.
DeleteLovely houses! However, in the era of Climate Change, I wouldn't like to live too close to the sea and ocean.
ReplyDeleteTrue Duta, living back from the sea would be ideal.
DeleteThose homes would have spectacular views. I like that they all seem to be different too.
ReplyDeleteAll the houses were very different EC. Plenty of land there to build on as well.
DeleteBeautiful place.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice Anne.
DeleteSo beautiful..I love how deep blue and clear the sky is.
ReplyDeleteWas a beautiful day Angie.
DeleteWhat wonderful photos, what a house with such an amazing view
ReplyDeleteThank you. The newer houses are really nice Jo-Anne
DeleteA wonderful quiet place. Subdivision of large lands is always tempting.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and there are many blocks for sale there too.
DeleteThere are some interesting houses and it doesn't look overcrowded.
ReplyDeletePlenty of land there to build on and certainly not over crowded.
DeleteReally nice houses, I like the one with the wraparound porch/verandah the best, I could sit out there all day watching the ocean while I read books and blogs.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you R. Only place to be in that area.
DeleteLindas casas me gusta la de la segunda foto. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteCertainly is a nice house in second photo, wouldn't mind if I owned that one.
DeleteI think it's been done well. I like the houses, generally, and there's no over-crowding. Excellent pictures, as always!
ReplyDeleteCertainly not overcrowded and no shops there either but it's not far to George Town or even to Launceston for that matter.
DeleteI do like the newer houses.
It would be marvelously pleasant if I could walk around here now.
ReplyDeleteBe beautiful as it's also seems very quiet there as well.
DeleteBeautiful pictures
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteSome people have money!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do but they probably own the Bank a lot of money, well some of those people.
DeleteMuy cercanas al mar, están esas casas. Se han tenido que vender rápidamente todas ellas.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
They look as if they built on the sea edge but they are not too close, thank goodness.
DeleteIt is sad to see farms go to residential, but I understand why and it helped someone else's dreams come true. I know I, for one, would love to live there!
ReplyDeleteBe a nice place to live and I agree about the farmers selling land but probably no one to take over the land or they didn't want to and maybe they couldn't sell the property - I don't know.
DeleteImpressive but not for me.
ReplyDeleteThe Southern winds from the Strait and good old Antarctica
would blow oldies like me over. Probably next stop Dunedin, NZ!!!!
Colin
Wrong end of the Island for Antarctica Colin, just the breeze from Bass Strait I expect but there are days with no wind of course.
DeleteIt seems to be a great place to live.
ReplyDeleteBe nice there John.
DeleteHello Margaret
ReplyDeleteHow I love looking at your photos, these beautiful, wonderful, large spaces. Beautiful buildings and greenery, after all, it's summer!
These houses are very nice, the large gardens around them are embarrassing, in my place it is very cramped and usually there is much less space around the houses.
Regards.
Thank you. I would say these houses are built on extra large blocks of land as in the towns and cities here on the Island the houses are closer together but we all have a backyard and a frontyard where we can grow veggies/flowers.
DeleteWould love living there!
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
Be nice and quiet Donna.
DeleteIt is a beautiful and quiet area, to live idela and enjoy the landscapes.
ReplyDeleteBest regards
Lovely for some people to live there or holiday as some of those houses are holiday homes, others built to live in all the time.
DeleteWhat a beautiful and warm pictures. Makes me happy. We will under heavy snow in next week here. Greetings.
ReplyDeleteWell you keep warm when the heavy snow comes and it won't be too long before your spring is here, always something to look forward to during winter.
DeleteIt's warm weather we are having for summer, not much rain in our area.
Wonderful to see, thank you Margaret. I enjoy seeing what's going on in your part of the world. Those are lovely houses and thank you also for the map.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Denise.
DeleteThe houses look very nice.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see blue sky, lovely photographs.
All the best Jan
Thanks Jan, and not a blue sky here today it's cloudy but warm at 28 degC, rain forecast but it may miss us.
DeleteSe ven bonitas las casas, en un lugar precioso. Un abrazo Margaret.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice there Teresa and not far from a larger town.
DeleteSuch beautiful houses by the sea.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos, Margaret.

Thank you Steefania.
DeleteBeautiful, spacious and lovely weather.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could go for a walk there and spend some time alone.
Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome Liam. It's always good if you can go for a walk alone at the beach, it clears ones head. Maybe oneday you will be able to.
DeleteA beautiful and quiet area with great views. I like the architecture of the houses.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead.
A good area to have a run in I expect :) The architecture of the newer houses is pleasing to my eye too.
DeleteMuy bello el modo en que has captado esas bellas construcciones.
