The Gorge, Launceston.

The Gorge Gardens are only a 10 minute walk from the City of Launceston.  There are a few entrances and we usually choose the back entrance down those steps.
There is a restaurant near this area plus a chair lift which takes you over the Rhododendrons and near the swimming pool on the other side.  These photos are just a small area of the Gorge.  Peacocks are abundant as are birds and wallabies.

  14. We have fond memories of The Gorge. It makes me a little sad. I just cancelled, for the third time plans to visit Australia again. There is just so much uncertainty with all the new strains of COVID constantly appearing, and the real possibility of quarantine or being stranded somewhere, it just doesn't seem possible. Airline ticket prices have gone through the roof, COVID-related insurance is hard to obtain, and I am not sure that travelling in a plane for almost eighteen hours with others is something I want to do. At this stage in my life, I doubt that I will ever see Australia again. Sad!

    1. Oh dear me David can understand what you are saying, there are just no guarantees anymore such a pity, but that's how it's all turned out. You both have wonderful memories of the travelling that you have done and I'm sure very grateful for that as we are having done our travels within Australia when we did.

  16. Hello Margaret.
You don't even know how much joy you give me with such beautiful summer photos. I have been depressed lately, I have the shortest days, cold, gray and gloomy, no joy ... I love such green and sunny landscapes.
