Daylight saving here from yesterday, Sunday the clock went 1 hour forward, we do love daylight saving in this house.
These photos were taken in winter late in the evening - they are of the Tamar River which is about 70km long and is classed as an estuary. To see the Tamar River from Launceston, Tasmania Australia (my home town/city) it's just about a 5 minute drive from the city or you can walk to it. There are a couple of parks nearby.
These pictures are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like the header too. :)
Thank you.
DeleteА у нас нет перехода на летнее время, та что уже в 20-00 уже темно.
ReplyDeleteМаргарет, фото вечером очень загадочны. Особенно понравилось 4 фото - отражение в воде сказочные.
Can understand why you don't have daylight saving time.
DeleteIt is a nice reflection no 4.
Kudos for the amazing header!
ReplyDeleteThe Tamar River is a great asset for the surrounding area!
Let's hope Climate Change won't make it over-flood it and cause damage in the near future.
Thank you Duta on my header.
DeleteThere is a fair bit of silt in the Tamar River in the area of the photos unfortunately, trying to get rid of it is never successful.
It does flood there if it rain heaps in other rivers and it comes down the Gorge where the bridge is and it's rather a pretty site when it happens. There is a Restaurant near where the photo was taken it's been flooded serval times over the years.
Down by the river looks very calm and relaxed. We love daylight saving too, but at the end of October our clocks will be doing exactly the opposite.
ReplyDeleteOh yes Rosemary your clocks in reverse, I now when that happens here it seems to get colder all of a sudden.
DeleteOn a nice day it's beautiful by the river, there are seat and a good pathway for walking.
The water looks so smooth, very pretty area. We change our clocks at the end of the month, time is flying by. I like your new header too.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty area Bill, Launceston is on both side of the river but more so some suburbs on the other side over the bridge.
DeleteThanks re header - Campanulas are the flowers I believe but probably varieties of. I expect most in the northern hemisphere change their clock back well those that have daylight saving.
I remember the Neil Young's song "Down by the river", it means that I am old!!!!
ReplyDeleteTamar river is too beautiful as every place you show us.
Forgot about that song, just listening to it as you reminded me.
DeleteThanks for your compliment :)
You have some brilliant reflections on the water.
ReplyDeleteDaylightsaving starts too early and goes on for too long for my liking.
I was happy to get such lovely reflections as one doesn't always with water.
DeleteOh I like it this long though the mornings are still rather cool, well some mornings. I've got to push myself to have dinner in the evening early enough though so we all can have an evening before bed, otherwise dinner and bed can run into one and other.
Such bloody great photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteI love the purple flowers in your header. The river so beautiful and calm. What a reflection it gives. Nice that it has parks so all can enjoy its beauty.
ReplyDeleteI think those flowers are campanulas from our garden a few years back, all gone now but have photos to remember.
DeleteWas good to have a calm day to take photos Cynthia.
Boa noite, Margaret!´
ReplyDeleteSuas fotografias estão esplêndidas!
Um doce e sorridente abracinho!

Thanks Megy.
DeleteBlue sky, water so still and lovely lighting.
ReplyDeleteI struck it lucky Andrew.
DeleteWithin a couple of weeks we will also adjust our clocks and "fall" back an hour, which doesn't make me happy in the least. You have some lovely scenics in this post, margaret.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beatrice.
DeleteI'm not pleased when we have to put our clock back either but that for us is sometime away yet.
How nice it would be to be sitting on the banks of a river, lake...or ocean...the peace...the tranquility!
ReplyDeleteIt's very pleasant on a nice day Lee.
DeleteBeautiful. Since I'm retired I no longer pay attention to the clock. But when I did, I was not a fan of DST. I like having it light when I get up, not when I go to bed. But no matter...
ReplyDeleteThe sun rises tomorrow around 6.35am and will get earlier as time goes on, so plenty of light down here. Maybe you rise earlier than 6.30am Bill.
DeleteThanks.
Magníficos os espelhos de água.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.
