Day visit to Blackwood Creek when restrictions were lifted on driving with in the State of Tasmania in June 2020.
The photos are phone ones.
We started out for a short drive to Longford to buy some meat at the abattoir shop which we often do and ended up going further.
Longford is a country town about 19 minutes drive from home.
Blackwood Creek is a small community at the base of the Great WesternTiers in Tasmania. There are only about 134 people living there. It's a farming area with a creek running through it with great flat stones in some areas of the creek. Years ago we got some of these rock/stones to go around the fish pond which we don't have now, we have a smaller one with no fish.
The Western Tiers are on the right of some of the photos.
We drove up a hill and intended to continue, we came to a dead end!
That was a nice drive. I like the landscape.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely drive as it was not planned.
DeleteThat must have been a lovely experience to drive in lovely countryside after having been in lockdown. I know that I found that to be so when we first took a drive when lockdown was lifted.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely good to go out for the first time Rosemary back then.
DeleteThe landscape is beautiful. I liked how you described the area, it sounds pleasant.
ReplyDeleteLovely view from those houses, better on a nicer day.

ReplyDeleteCountry town are so very different in all areas of Australia but they have one thing in common, they are country people who are lovely people.
DeleteSo wonderful pix!Looks like Africa to me!Must be great to trvale there
ReplyDeletePhone photoes are just great, cant see ansy difference
wish you a nice week!
Sometimes you can't see any difference with phone photos, sometimes I can notice the difference.
DeleteIf those scenes look a bit like Africa maybe that's why we get many white people from South Africa living within our Island at times.
I particularly like the picture with the creek and the trees (first picture).
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's a nice scene with those trees.
DeleteEl cielo tiene un precioso tono azul y los paisajes son de mucha belleza.

DeleteSmall town are always lovely.
It looks like a rugged and beautiful region of Tasmania. It would be a great pleasure to find a rural inn in such an area, staying for a few days and going out for rambles each morning, back for an afternoon nap, followed by another walk. i can dream!
ReplyDeleteDreaming is what most of us can do at this time.
DeleteThere are B&B near by.
