On the way to Orange NSW

Went through Harden, Canowindra in NSW before we got to Orange NSW.
At Canowindra we had to buy a loaf of bread for lunch - but where to park as you can see by the photos plus we drove into town and not bypassed it.
My husband is always 'tinny' when it comes to parking he often gets just outside the door of where he wishes to shop, this time it was no different even with the caravan in tow..we parked right outside the towns supermarket in photo 4.
These photos were taken with my phone and I missed them when doing my previous posts.

Down the other end of town, the northern end we came across the park which was lovely - lines of date palms.

  4. I worked in Orange for a number of years and work duties took me to Canowindra on a regular basis. It was also the source of arguments with my father who insisted it was pronounced canno-windra, rather than the c'noundra the locals use.

    1. You would know that area very well then EC. Pronunciation of town names can bee troublesome at times, I know we get into trouble occasionally when travelling if we say the names incorrectly.

  5. El camino es largo y pasa por cantidad de lugares. Una parada en el camino permite realizar muy buenas tomas.

  6. Harden brings back plenty of memories from my West Wyalong years.
The "Royal Hotel" belonged to cousins and where I had at times been
commandeered for bar duties. Also many rotary functions at Harden which
the Harden Rotarians turned into great shows of mirth, highjinks and fun!
The last three photos of the park area are near the swimming pool and the tennis
    courts.
Yep I sure enjoyed my trips to Harden and through Harden on the way to Canberra and Young where Mum and Dad initially retired to.
Actually Harden is a "twin-like" town with Murrumburrah - I guess you recall that long straight stretch of road between the two towns.
    Thanks for the memories, Margaret.

  8. It looks a nice little stop over town. My SIL is like that with parking. He calls them "Rock Star Car Parks" now if we are lucky enough to get one we say the same thing except I always get muddled and say, "Rock Car Star Park"

  15. I think a grandmother on the beer fairy's side of the family comes from there might not have changed much since her days.

    1. Interesting.
I don't think it's changed much over the years - actually it's good to see that it hasn't.
