It's been cool at 13degC, F55.4 during the day, at night it's been colder but no frost where I live as yet! It's a lovely time, as the first daffodils have bloomed.
An update on my blind dad - he is stable, in a Private Hospital for Palliative Care. Strong pain tablets are given which help him. He can stay there for 35 days, after that he may have to be moved somewhere else if he is still alive. My father said he's not afraid of dying and has a wonderful outlook on death, we have talked about it for hours. Yes, it's a hard time knowing that he is dying, but God will take him, when God is ready :)
Today I am going to an Aged Care home in the city where dads home is to find out all about the fees.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteYou are being incredibly positive and supportive. We are certain that your father must be so pleased with all that you are doing.
It is wonderful that he has no fear of death, one would wish that for oneself but is it ever that easy? Whatever, you are doing your very best for him and it is so lovely that you can talk about all these things so naturally.
I try to be positive at a time like this. I am all my father has, apart from my husband and our two sons. I like caring for people, it's my nature :)
DeleteNo fear of death at all, it's just the passage to death that isn't so good for him.
My father & I have always talked about certain subject very openly which is good for both of us, it helps in many ways...
Thank you for your kind words - Regards Margaret..
It is good that you and your dad can talk about dying , so many people it seems that know they are dying wish they could talk to their family about it but are worried it will upset them. I seemed to be the only one that could open that conversation up for my dad when he was dying and he seemed so relieved to be able to talk about it with someone.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and your dad, I know it is still a very hard time .
Yes, I have been with people who are dying and won't talk about it, it's a pity they can't, but we all are different.
DeleteIt's pleasing that you could do that with your dad, as I am sure you have fond memories of the talks you had :)
Thanks for your kind words...Margaret.
Oh M I have watched my own father go through this till he passed and I have to say he was not afraid either and with pain meds he passed away peacefully and I still remember him lying with a smile looking up knowing where he was going. I am not afraid either after seeing his face. You take care I do understand how hard this is. HUGS HUGS xoxo G
ReplyDeleteG, Yes my dear friend, you did indeed watch your dad, and it's good you have lovely memories of him. Thanks for your kind words...Hugs to you Margaret xoxox
DeleteEven though he is ready, I know this is a very difficult time. It's good he is comfortable and in a good place. I wish you peace and strength for the days ahead.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the daffodils is beautiful.
Thank you for your kinds words. He is lucky in one way he is being taken care of so well.
DeleteRegards, Margaret
Your dad is wonderful man and his positive outlook on death is amazing. I know it is the most difficult time for because a parent is the dearest person in our life. But I believe in our Life and our death we belong to our creator and what's more unfortunately death is part of life. Take care. Hugs to you and you dad.
ReplyDeleteNot many people look at death like my father does...Yes, death is a part of life, that is the way it goes.......Thanks for your kinds words....Regards, Margaret
DeleteLike many other of your comments, I have lost both my parents. I was with them until the end. I am so thankful for Eternal Life and to know we will be reunited one day. May God be merciful to your Dad. Praying for both of you. Love, M
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to have been with both your parents when they went to heaven..it's a privilege actually as not everyone gets the opportunity and some don't take that opportunity, or they can't which is understandable.
DeleteThanks for your kind words....Regards, Margaret
Blessings for your father and for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Beth for your kinds words..I shall pass to my dad, as I do from all the people who send their blessing via my blog :)
DeleteRegards, Margaret
Beautiful photo, and your dad seems to be a wonderful human being! God be with you both, and I am very touched by your father's positive outlook. Please send your father my love and a big hug...and here is one for you as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. Dad is always positive, he can see the bright side on things even though he's slowly dying :)
