Headed to Preston Falls

Whilst on our holiday in Devonport we went to Preston Falls inland, the water was only a trickle so we didn't venture right into the falls even though it was a short walk.  The sign at Ulverstone tells how far it is.
The second last photo is a little blurry as it was very dark looking into the bush there and I forgot to change the settings on my camera.
The last photo is part of a 'manfern' which grows in that area as well as many other areas.

    So many signs indicating directions in the first photo! Preston Falls sign, however, is the only one on its side.

      That's true, maybe who ever designed the sign was perhaps told to only advertise Preston Falls..

    I love the shot of the forest - and photographed very similar ferns when I was at our Botanical Gardens recently.

      Yes Andrew, everything has a name. Infact 2 or 3 names sometimes.

      Thanks Irma, looking over the top of the fern is not always possible as they can grow rather tall.

    I was wrestling with a couple of our big ferns yesterday. Some alien looking invasive plant had gotten into them and they weren't happy. Neither was I after pulling the invader out--- very carefully. Your posts are always transportive. Thanks.

      Indeed they are transportive Bill. That must have been a bit difficult taking out a weed or similar that was intertwined with the fern and not trying to spoil the fern.

      Yes, it's a shaded area up in the hills with plenty of rainfall in that area.

      Oh good. I believe they fern is a Dicksonia antarctica along with being a tree fern.

    Your header photo is a stunner and I enjoyed my trip to Preston Falls. Thanks Marageret :) The fern is impressive and the walk is one I would like to go on. Always find those type of signposts fun.
