Whilst on our holiday in Devonport we went to Preston Falls inland, the water was only a trickle so we didn't venture right into the falls even though it was a short walk. The sign at Ulverstone tells how far it is.
The second last photo is a little blurry as it was very dark looking into the bush there and I forgot to change the settings on my camera.
The last photo is part of a 'manfern' which grows in that area as well as many other areas.
So many signs indicating directions in the first photo! Preston Falls sign, however, is the only one on its side.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, maybe who ever designed the sign was perhaps told to only advertise Preston Falls..
DeleteОчень красивые места.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed Irina
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteAs always, thank you for beautiful and kind words, you also appreciate the beauty of nature and enjoy being and relaxing in beautiful places. I always like those wonderfully vast and great panoramas and spaces with you. Lots of nature, forest and nature = this is where we rest the best.
Have a great week :)
You are welcome. Nature is always good and certainly does give us a nice feeling.. 😊
DeleteLooks like a nice place to explore and enjoy nature
ReplyDeleteQuite nice is that area Bill.
DeleteI love the shot of the forest - and photographed very similar ferns when I was at our Botanical Gardens recently.
ReplyDeleteThanks EC. Probably the same ferns if the truth is known. The lady next door is growing them...
DeleteI didn't know those ferns had a name. They are lovely.
ReplyDeleteYes Andrew, everything has a name. Infact 2 or 3 names sometimes.
DeleteI have only seen the ferns in the pots...those manferns are like giants!
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed big and have a tick trunck
DeleteWonderful series of photos.
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is my favorite.
Greetings Irma
Thanks Irma, looking over the top of the fern is not always possible as they can grow rather tall.
DeleteI was wrestling with a couple of our big ferns yesterday. Some alien looking invasive plant had gotten into them and they weren't happy. Neither was I after pulling the invader out--- very carefully. Your posts are always transportive. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are transportive Bill. That must have been a bit difficult taking out a weed or similar that was intertwined with the fern and not trying to spoil the fern.
DeleteDebe de haber abundante agua, ya que los helechos están frondosos.
ReplyDeleteBesos.
Yes, it's a shaded area up in the hills with plenty of rainfall in that area.
DeleteGostei de ver estas belas fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

Thank you Franscisco.
DeleteThe ferns are gorgeous. I have a good friend who is a real expert on ferns, so I will be sure to show him this picture.
ReplyDeleteOh good. I believe they fern is a Dicksonia antarctica along with being a tree fern.
DeleteBeautiful and green. I especially loved the last photo, the man fern, it's spectacular.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty the last photo and so wide are the fronds.
DeleteА у нас папоротники не растут. Очень интересны Ваши фотографии. Спасибо!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine you don't grow ferns where you are and thanks.
DeleteBloody good snaps
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.

ReplyDeleteThank you, it is beautiful there.
DeleteYour header photo is a stunner and I enjoyed my trip to Preston Falls. Thanks Marageret :) The fern is impressive and the walk is one I would like to go on. Always find those type of signposts fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Denise. Lovely walk down hill to the bottom of the falls, it's a walk up that's a bit steep for me :)
DeleteSuper post
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteChe bei luoghi! Passeggiare nella natura è rigenerante!
ReplyDeleteYes lovely there.
DeleteSigns to go anywhere, lol. Love them all clustered together like that. Beautiful picutures. What a nice place to walk and take in nature.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
Often see signs like the ones in the first photo, they are interesting. Beautiful area at Preston Falls.
