A view along the walkway and riding bike track at Devonport, Tasmania. Little rocks everywhere and no one swims in this area.
The second photo is the view from the above and looks towards 'The Bluff Caravan Park', the little beach and picnic area.
We stayed here at the caravan park for another two weeks before heading home in March..
The sea is Bass Strait.
The caravan park called 'The Bluff Caravan Park' in Devonport which is owned by the council and managed by good managers who live in a house in the caravan park.
The ship below is heading into the mouth of the Mersey River at Devonport, Tasmania and the ship is the ferry that carries cars and passengers to Melbourne, Victoria's port which will be changed later this year to Geelong, Victoria. The trip takes all night and sometimes there are sailings during the day in the busier times.
The remaining views are taken with my mobile phone from our caravan site.
Amazing the caravan park is nearly empty in the mornings only to be full in the evenings. The amenities on the right, on the roof solar hotwater.
Looks like a wonderful place to camp. Hubby and I used to camp, but I now say my dance card is full, lol. We slept in sleeping bags in a small pup style tent, and I'm not young enough to want to do that anymore. If and when he ever actually retires he would like to get a camper...I'm not holding my breath on that scenario. Got you added to my blog list.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
I think camping in tents and sleeping on the ground is more for younger people than an oldie like my husband and I. It's a different way of life for sure.
DeleteHopefully you get your wish when you retire.
Have added you too.
I admire adventurous people like yourself. Always on the road. I believe I would miss my home even though I love to travel and don't mind being away for a month or so. : )
ReplyDeleteAfter a while you do miss home Catarina. We now stay home in winter but travel in the warmer months on this Island coming home for a few weeks then off again.
Seems people are the same all over the world then but call it different names.
DeleteAwesome post
ReplyDeleteIt is a good spot and very close to the city of Devonport.
DeleteYet another beautiful spot. Thank you. Again.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, love to be near the sea.
DeleteMe gusta esa cercanía al mar. Yo vivo en una ciudad del interior y de vez en cuando me gusta viajar a un lugar cercanos al mar..
ReplyDeleteBesos.
I guess you don't have too far to go to the sea, well I'm hoping you don't.
DeleteSo beautiful! Love the beach view!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very small beach with a bit of sand, but it's good to be by the sea.
DeleteThe area is picturesque. Very nice caravan park to stay in. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. It is a pretty area there Bill.
DeleteIt's good that you two can do this-- to be able to spend time away, but still take your lives with you.
ReplyDeleteWe are indeed fortunate to be able to have the best of two worlds, but time will come when we will have to stay home and not go. Probably just stay at Motel/Hotel for a few days instead.
DeleteWonderful caravan park to stay.
ReplyDeleteI like the view of the beach.
Have a nice weekend.
Greetings Irma
It's is rather nice staying there, and a good place to see people coming and going, keeps us entertained :)
DeleteLife by the ocean is always pleasant, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, one of my favourite places in Tasmania is Friendly Beaches but there are not many places to park the caravan due to it being a National Park.
DeleteBelas fotografias.

DeleteLovely photos again Margaret. The names are also always fun to see. I lived near Devonport in Devonshire, England many, many years ago. Here is a link:

Thank you also for providing the map. Always interesting.
Thanks Denise. There are so many names in Tasmania that are the same as in England and Ireland too, even Scotland.
DeleteThe sky with the red patches in two of the photos is stunning!
ReplyDeleteEvening time, most evenings the clouds were over the sun when it was setting.
DeleteAwesome snaps better then I could take
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne, I'm sure could do.
DeleteIt has to be beautiful and rewarding to travel in the carabana those lands and where you can, enjoy those wonderful landscapes and know or relive everything that is worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday.
Best regards.
Thank you. It's often said, travel the long distance when young and shorter distances when older.
DeleteSounds like a wonderful adventure. Nice pics.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteIt is a blessing to be able to travel like you do. So nice to enjoy the beautiful views.
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky to be able to travel don't know for how long though due to getting older :) Will do it whilst we can Nancy.
DeleteWonderful... I feel like going on vacation :-))
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful pictures.

You are welcome.
DeleteHello Margaret.
ReplyDeleteThere are hot days in Poland and a look at such places with water and beautiful clouds is something you just need to relax. You have a great time, I like such places, small, intimate and with a relaxing atmosphere.
Regards.
Certainly is a relaxing place there as most places in Tasmania are. Hoping we can travel again in our spring, summer and autumn.
DeleteLos paisajes son preciosos y el cielo se ve muy bonito. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa
DeleteUn espacio de intensa belleza, amiga

DeleteWonderful pictures Margaret. A beautiful place along the water.
ReplyDeleteNice with the boat of Tasmania at the back.
Greetings, Marco
The boat is rather close as in 5 minutes drive away from the caravan park...
DeleteBeautiful photographs, especially those pink skies.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I'm usually not in the right place at the right time for sunset photos but just happened to look out as I was cooking dinner..
DeleteBeautiful place. I loved the color of the sky in the 5th and 6th photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria...not always easy for me to get photos when sun it setting as I'm usually cooking dinner or doing other things.
