A little regarding the Tamar River here in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
The Tamar River is a 70 kilometer estuary located in northern area of the Island Tasmania. Despite being called a river, the waterway is a brackish and tidal estuary over it's entire length.
Some photos taken near Hillwood and north of with my Canon DSLR camera.
The first photo is the bridge which we drove over on the other side, the Western side.
Last photo you can see the Batman Bridge which we drove over after going to George Town on the Eastern side.
It's a very beautiful river! No. 2,5,6 are my favourites.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angie.
DeleteThese places look spectacular, which calm and relax produce.
ReplyDeleteHappy week.
Best regards
Thanks Jose.
DeleteI admire your great river. kisses from Poland.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gosia.
DeleteBeautiful Oceans, beautiful waters, beautiful, trees, beautiful wildlife, beautiful...................
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob :)
DeleteИнтересные камни.
ReplyDeleteПочему они так лежат?
The rocks are there like that so people know not to drive their cars along that path as it's not safe to do so.
DeleteEs un gran río, con buena vegetación a su alrededor.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Yes it is in many places, some areas of the river are narrow.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see this nature. Great pictures.
Shot 2 I found very nice.
Many greetings,
Marco
Thanks Marco.
DeleteWhat kinds of animals do you have around there? One of photos looks like a hippo's ears, but can't be. You'd be running! 😂
ReplyDeleteDefinitely no hippos :)
DeleteKangaroos, Wallabies, Bandicoots, Wombats, Birds, Fish in the River and other animals I can't think of :)
Beautiful River and fantastic photos as always!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha.
DeleteYet another amazingly beautiful area. Thank you. I do wonder whether bull sharks cruise that estuary though.
ReplyDeleteGummy Sharks, Stringray and seven gill sharks apparently, it's an estuary for so I've read EC. I know seals have been found up the Gorge which is just 3 klm from the city.
DeleteWhat a beautiful landscape. The river looks peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, was beautiful that day and yes very peaceful.
DeleteWhat a beautiful area, your photographs are lovely to see.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan.
DeleteIt's wonderful travelling with you, Margaret....I don't even have to pack a bag...or make curried egg sandwiches to eat along the way! :)
ReplyDeleteTake care.
It's good being an armchair traveller, you never know what you will see.
DeleteThanks Lee.
Thanks for the river clarification. While I did know it is tidal, I never thought of it as an estuary and of course it is. While I've experienced it, I think your readers would be rather impressed by some close up photos of Batman Bridge.
ReplyDeleteI didn't take any photos that day of the Batman's Bridge but do have photos of it and will post them in the near future if I can find them - that's the thing, finding them :)
DeleteSuch a lovely lot of photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne.
DeleteBased on personal experience it's a great spot for birding,
ReplyDeleteOf course it is David, see people with their binoculars sometimes when travelling down the river so presume they are seeking birds.
DeleteI like the natural scenery, it looks very nice, thank you for sharing

Thank you - it was peaceful that day.
DeleteIt's great to be traveling along, Margaret, especially since we are doing very little long-distance travel. It also looks like having great weather most days. really liked the water reflections in photos 2 and 6.
ReplyDeleteWe are not doing long distance either, just local and can travel on the Island if we wish to Beatrice.
DeleteThe bridge looks great
ReplyDeleteThanks Gosia, it's a nice bridge.
