Fascinating! The distances are staggering to a European used to everything on a small scale. Have fun... looking forward to "traveling with you"!
ReplyDeleteThank you...by the map of European countries it's staggering compared to Australia, how large our country is.
DeleteMARGARET YOUR TRIP LOOKS FANTASTIC AND WHAT A LONG DISTANCE, LOVE FOR YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND
ReplyDeleteThank you. Very long distance...
DeleteWow. You will see parts of Oz that I have never seen. I am really, really looking forward to travelling with you.
ReplyDeleteWondering you can follow us on our travels...I'm seeing areas I haven't seen before as well, a lot I have seen but there is always more to see..
DeleteMy goodness, you-all take vacationing very seriously.
ReplyDeleteWhen it's a big country and not many towns one has to take it seriously...many places no water, power...
DeleteMargaret, take a bow. Brilliant mapping of distances to be travelled.
ReplyDeleteLooks like map and route reading skills are a forte for you. Then with all
your internal travelling over the years, I guess this can only be expected.
There will be no doubting now of the size of Australia.
Some of these stopovers are places of such interest. Broome and Albany (WA)
are places I would just love to see.
Enjoy the "delights" of Coober Pedy and make sure the water tanks are full - ha ha.
Shanks Pony would have no hope on this Aussie odyssey you are undertaking.
The poor old bloke would have passed on just looking at your excellent mapping
route - stimulants would have been a waste of money - ha ha.
Cheers
Colin
Looks like the makings of a wonderful 4th July day here - I guess the
CBD bar malls will be packed with American revelers.
Thank re maps :) One has to know exactly where you are going on the roads where we go. Research is important because in many areas there is no water or power, this you have to know before the journey.
DeleteGosh that really is some journey you are making - another year you will have to do the other half!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a long way, and next year hopefully we will do part of the other half.
DeleteA fantastic journey and I wish you both so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you...
DeleteHave a great trip.i am envious.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane :)
DeleteThat's a loooong trip.
ReplyDeleteWonder how long such a trip would take a couple of centuries ago when travel was by camel?
Imagine the heat and flies!
So glad you have a comfortable car for this holiday.
Would have been a great feat back then.
DeleteOh my, that is quite the trip. We really do have an incredible country. I'm especially looking forward to what you find up north.
ReplyDeleteWe sure do have a wonderful country...warm weather we hope to find :)
