We went to buy some cherries at a cherry orchard north of home here in Launceston, Tasmania. Then ventured onto a strawberry farm and bought some, and off for a drive we went down the Tamar River way. Firstly the photos are taken from the Windermere Road on the way to Swan Bay. It was a warm day but being in the car with the air conditioner was much better than being home sitting with the air conditioner on. We were gone 3 hours, called into the supermarket on the way home and got a few items that were on special. I don't always buy specials only if I need them.

ReplyDeleteIt's very warm where you are, but here it was very cold with lots of snow and icy roads, making walking almost impossible.

Oh my, that is not so good when you like walking in your country, Irma. I wouldn't enjoy it if I thought I might slip on the ice at my age. However, I would enjoy the snow.
DeleteThe temperature down here is not too bad as in being hot, not like some places which have over 40 deg C. Mostly ours during the day is 23 C to 27 C, that is what is forecast this week, so that is pleasant. Night is cooler 12 C to 15 C.

ReplyDeleteYes we are lucky to have the cherry orchid not too far from home here, and also the strawberries and raspberry farm are just a little further along the same road. The season is late this year for the cherries. Once went up the mountain on a 30 deg C day in the afternoon was much cooler up there, though I do like the warm weather as long as I don't have to do much work in it.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne. It's warm, this week the daily temperature is forecast to be between 23 to 27 deg C. Sometimes it will get hotter but not that often, up to 35 deg C.

DeleteThe hay is cut and baled and all ready to be loaded onto a truck and put in a hayshed. That property looks valuable.
ReplyDeleteYes, most of Tasmanian farms cost the earth to buy. At least they didn't get any rain before they moved those bales, but it's raining as I type, thank goodness as it's been awhile since it did.

They have plenty of good feed there Colin. Lovely farms out that way. We are fortunate to have lush (usually) green fields for the sheep and cattle so hence smaller farms not like the sprawling ones up north.
