On our journey in South Australia we visited the Barossa Valley where many wine grapes are grown, harvested and wine made.
Stonehaven Vinyard is the first photo then further on some scenery and the hills in Adelaide are of course hilly.
A police bike, oh dear we got pulled over because our mirrors for towing the caravan were not wide enough in South Australia (SA), we just got a warning and to acquire new mirrows at our next stop which was many klm up the road.
Then a bridge somewhere near the hills when the river was very low and an old abandoned house.
It looks like an abandoned place.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice police officer.
I'm sure no one was living in that house but you never know.
DeleteMargaret, The climate of southern Australia is very similar to that of northern Argentina. Surely in that place that you sample, excellent wines will be produced, just as it happens with those of our north.
ReplyDeleteOh ok. Yes, award winning wines come from that area.
DeleteThe bridge doesn't look solid. The water is low now, but when it overflows, nothing can stop it.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have to go over that bridge, just took the photo in passing and yes when water gets flowing and too high it certainly would go over that bridge and could wash part of it away.
DeleteWe are busy picking our black grapes in the garden before the birds peck them all away.
ReplyDeleteLove black grapes. I guess you have bird netting over your grapes as they do here.
DeleteКакие просторы! Нет ни леса, ни гор... Мост для кого, для чего... Ни людей, ни транспорта.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. Australia is full of wide open spaces away from the major cities.
DeleteWhat a nice police officer.
ReplyDeleteI did a road trip of some of South Australia many years ago - and loved it.
Oh yes a lovely area and I'm sure it's grown heaps since we travelled through there. He was a nice Policeman, he said he didn't want to ruin our holiday.
DeleteАвстралия - это страна, где много свободного от людей места.
ReplyDeleteThat's so very true away from the major cities and towns but you can't necessarly live in those wide open spaces.
DeleteLove wine from Barossa Valley!
ReplyDeleteWell there you go Angie, you have obviously taste the wine from the Valley.
DeleteLas normas no deberían de variar de un lugar a otro....menos mal que todo terminó con una advertencia y no tuvieron que pagar una multa.
ReplyDeleteBesos
We were very lucky not to be fined, he was feeling generous that day, well to us he was.
DeleteGlad the officer was friendly and just gave you a warning. He must have been very observant to notice the mirrors weren't wide enough.
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky. Apparently he was driving behind us for several klms and we didn't see him and he knew that, we told him that in our State of Tasmania which is an Island that we are always going around bends so can see ourselves coming :)
DeletePleased to read the police officer was friendly ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
He was Jan, and he escorted us away from the road we were on and told us to go a different way as we would find it difficult to get back on the highway due to too much traffic when we got there..
DeleteToo bad the states couldn't get together and have one standard that applied throughout the country.
ReplyDeleteWould be a great idea if all our States and Territories of Australia had all the same rules, but that would just be too easy :)
DeleteAwesome photos, getting pulled over is unnerving for many
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne. Would be for some being pulled over for us it was ok.
DeleteI would imagine towing mirrors would be quite expensive. More absurdity with state based road laws. Surely the test should be about how well you can see with mirrors. The Barossa Valley is very nice.
ReplyDeleteYes some mirrors are expensive but probably worth it - the ones we bought were a bit on the dear side, we sold them later to another caravaner at 80 miles beach in WA.
DeleteFinally you are in my state :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes River - have more photos somewhere of your State which is a beautiful one :)
DeleteMagnifico viaje por un lugar que para nosotros esta como en otro mundo...
ReplyDeleteWell I expcet it is another world really very different from over your way it seems by photos I see of the houses, landscape and so on.
DeleteAs always beautiful photos, reflection of that wonderful land.
ReplyDeleteHappy week.
Best regards.
Thank you Jose.
DeleteWhat beautiful photos Margaret.
ReplyDeleteNice police officer, I think you would immediately get a ticket here in the Netherlands.
Greetings Irma
We were told that we would get a ticket if anything was not to the Police's liking in South Australia but such a nice chap he was that Officer.
DeleteThank you.
Lovely view of the vineyard. Friendly and generous police officer. The house looks quite bare from outside.
ReplyDeleteIt does look bare and the windows have tin over them from the inside.
DeleteA kind police officer.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view of the vineyard, just last week we visited a vineyard in a nice town by the Bolsena lake where we also had lunch.
Great photos as always.
Well that was nice then and we here in Tasmania have many vineyards.
DeleteThanks.
Lovely
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteIt looks like an abandoned place.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice police officer.
Yes it was abandoned as far as I know.
DeleteGostei das fotos principalmente daquela "máquina" da policia.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

A Nice looking motorbike.
DeleteI hope you did some wine tasting! :)
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Well we didn't Lee, as husband doesn't drink wine or anything much for that matter and I only have a little wine.
DeleteThere's something I miss doing--- visiting wineries.
ReplyDeleteOf all the wineries we passed in our travels never called into one because not that fond of wine.
DeleteGlad you just got a warning on the mirror. We were once almost knocked off the road by a truck on one of our road trips and he clipped it. It was flopping on the side as we made our way and it wasn’t long before we were pulled over. He was nice enough just to give us a warning when we explained what had happened. We got it fixed at the next stop. Great shots of the bike and the surrounding area, and the map. I always love maps, thanks Margaret!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Denise. At the end of each post there is 'Location' if you click on that when I don't have a map it will take you to the place.
DeleteWell you ha a nice person that day too.
Hello again, thank you Margaret, I will enjoy clicking on it and looking around. Yes we did, I remember another policeman on foot patrol once. We had the sweetest encounter as we had found someone's phone and gave it to him for their lost and found. He had a lovely humorous nature, which was a great pleasure. Take good care of yourself and have a lovely weekend. Beautiful header shot by the way.
Delete:)
DeleteI love wooden bridges. Did you have time to walk on it?
ReplyDeleteNo we didn't take a walk on it, as far as I'm aware it just went to a few houses and was a lane what I could make out.
DeleteBeautiful photos. Thankfully the police only gave notice.
ReplyDeleteYes and a kind word Maria.
DeleteGenerally police Officers are unfriendly but you run into a kind one. How nice! Dear friend! As usual, your photos are a amazing. Especially clouds in the second photo look great. I love it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYes, so lucky to have a friendly policeman a also makes a difference is you are nice back.
Maravilloso paseo y bien por el policía que no le puso una multa.. Un abrazo.
ReplyDeleteYes Teresa.
