Darwin in the Northern Territory (NT) down by the sea in the tropics of Australia.
The first photo is of the War Memorial. 2nd is of the Wharf in the distance with the flower Bougainvillea in the foreground. 3rd is of Government House and the 4th of the garden outside the fence. Government House in Darwin was built to let the sea breeze flow through with a lot of shutters seen on the ground floor.
The trees above around a Government building, then canoes and a lot of yachts, on our last visit to this area in Darwin not so many plus the eating houses were no more, just one or two shops were open, totally different .
The photo is of one of the beach areas looking towards Beagle Gulf/Timor Sea.

The Governor's residence is different to what I'm used to seeing.

DeleteIt is looking so lush. I can't remember the name but it is something Wharf I think. When we were there it was so lively and a great place to be but I've heard it is nearly deserted now.

DeleteWhere the yachts are and those canoes don't know what that area is called these days, but it was deserted when we were there the last time, such a vast different from the time before..

ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful place. Lots of trees, flowers and getting the sea breeze. Our place is also hot and humid the whole year round.

DeleteI enjoyed seeing the photos of Darwin, Margaret, and what struck me was the ansence of any people in them. That said the lush greens and beach areas were lovely.
ReplyDeleteWinter time might have something to do with lack of locals during the day and late afternoon. Many tourist staying in the several caravan parks but we didn't seem to see them either..
