Orchids in City Park

A few years back we visited the Launceston City Park and discovered in the Conservotory, Orchids.
The throat of the orchid is to be deep, the legs wide, no blemishes on any orchid or leaves and a few more things.  A judge once told me all that he looks for in a good orchid. 
These photos were taken with my phone and turned out rather well for an older phone at that time.

    Lovely - I have an orchid that flowers once in every five years, and I have just noticed that it has once again started to throw up a flower. It is a long wait in between but well worth it when it arrives.

      I've heard of orchids doing that, and yes, a long wait but then any flower is worth the wait to see it bloom.

    Beautiful orchids.
    I have 2 orchids and they flower every 2 or 3 years. We tried to put them outside, inside, under the sun, in the shadow but the things don't change: they flower every 2/3 years.

    They are rewarding to grow. I've had moderate success with orchids in the past and it was exciting to see the flower spikes appear.

      Well that's wonderful Andrew. I recall one of my Aunties getting excited when she saw a flower spike. We've never had orchids.

      Certainly a pretty orchid that one and yes, I think the old phone does a better shot then the phone I have now...both Samsungs.
