Dust Haze at Bowen, Queensland.

There are several hills in Bowen where one can take in the views, so this I did.  On the day these photos were taken was a 'dust haze' blown to the east by the drought.   Normally one would be able to see out to sea clearly.  This 'dust haze' lasted several days.

Above photo is of the supermarket, a jeweller shop, variety store, hairdressers, a clothing shop.

The above photo there are some salt piles there in the distance.

The photo below you can just see the graveyard.

  1. Those dust storms are dreadful things. I hope Bowen and its surroundings is now green again.

    1. They are dreadful EC, we encountered many last year which is unusual for winter. I'm sure it's greener there now.

    1. Looking down it's rather flat, but a lot of Australia is like that.

  4. The dust storms must be difficult to deal with. I am sure that sand and grit gets into everything.

    1. They are as you can't see in a real bad one, plus dust/dirt just gets everywhere.

  5. The dust haze makes for interesting photos, but hopefully there is some green there now and the dust has gone. Thanks for the photos.

    1. Puts another perspective on a photo does the dust - a bit like rain, sun and light.

  6. Better a haze than a full blown dust storm! Looks a nice place when the skies clear.

    1. Gee, you are correct on that. Once there was a big dust storm that came here from SA and the dust ended up in our loo, on the walls, toilet, floor and where ever it could get.
