From the top of a hill near the caravan park is the view below. This land is where tomatoes are grown in our winter, and in the second photo you can see a field of tomatoes growing from a distance.
Oh yes, tough skins from Bowen. A few years ago some one gave us tomatoes as they were a picker, gosh they were really tough as in skins...pity really and not a lot of taste though. This year the tomatoes down here have been rather tasty, best for years.
Beautiful view!
ReplyDeleteHugs
It is a lovely view Maria.
DeleteThat is quite a view!
ReplyDeleteLooking down on the tomatoes, it's awesome.
DeleteIt is a lovely view.
ReplyDeleteMy paranoid self honed in on the smoke on the horizon though.
Have no idea what they were burning on the horizon, could have been sugarcane - just a thought.
DeleteNothing quite like a fresh tomato.
ReplyDeleteTrue as long as they are tasty.
DeleteNice photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
DeleteI just wish they didn't have to grow tomatoes with such hard skins necessary to transport them a couple of thousand kilometres south.

ReplyDeleteYes, it's a good one Jo-Anne.
DeleteAround Bowen, and Gumlu...such productive areas. The best honeydew melon I've ever tasted was grown in Gumlu.
ReplyDeleteBet your mouth is watering.
DeleteThanks Agnes.
ReplyDeleteFresh tomatoes are the best. I have tried to grow them but never successfully, so now try to get them at farmers markets. The photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosie.
DeleteDo love nice tomatoes and they can be found at times. We used to grow our own some years ago with great success.
I've got tomatoes on my mind now!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will grow some come your spring..
