There are several photos of the Sunshine Coast on this blog from the past, the visit last year didn't take many photos at all of the area.
The tunnel photos are on the highway south to Ballina. Some have lights in them and some don't.
Last photo is of the most Eastern Point in Australia!
This lighthouse at Byron Bay is situated near the most Eastern area of Australia.
The people come to take a short walk to that area, of course it cost money to do so, the parking is dreadful and lucky if you get a park at all.
I remember going here when there wasn't a fee, wasn't a really popular place like now.
Byron Bay was a Hippy Town way back and it's grown somewhat over the years. We drove from Ballina to Byron Bay a short distance for a quick visit.
Hello Margaret and thanks for showing us more of the Sunshine Coast! I see what you mean about the traffic at the lighthouse but it does seem like a great area to visit!
ReplyDeleteGood view from up there Christine, see for miles out to sea.
DeleteThe lighthouse is pretty but looks crowded. As a kid, I was afraid to ride thru those tunnels!
ReplyDeleteVery crowded the day we were there.
DeleteI know of many adults who won't go through tunnels, I will it doesn't bother me, have been through many longer ones in Australia.
Popularity costs money!! It happens all over the world.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been a very pleasant outing. It is nice to get out of the city (or the place we live in) and just drive and drive...
Popularity does many things in towns and cities.
DeleteThe lighthouse was always popular but more so now.
I love the little boat house. I need a boat house. I need waterfront property, too.
ReplyDeleteJust to take a few steps onto the beach - yes, have done that from where we've stayed many times.
DeleteI really like the jetty and the modern building of the second photo.
ReplyDeleteIn Spain also, there is a coast of the sun, and is located on the coast of Malaga.
Kisses
That's interesting, it's something we don't hear about down here unless we think to ask :)
DeleteLook at all the people at the lighthouse! Such a contrast to the lovely quiet and peaceful first photo. Too many people in Australia.
ReplyDeleteWe were rather surprised at the amount of cars hence people trying to find somewhere to park - impossible really. So different from years ago there.
DeleteThe first photo is where I took youngest sons Wedding photos on the Sunshine Coast. They live in Tasmania now.
I don't do tunnels well.
ReplyDeleteLast time I went to Byron Bay there were no crowds. I suspect I would prefer it that way...
Crowds at Byron Bay certainly brings cars, buses and so on.
DeleteI love the Sunshine Coast area.........leaves the bloody Gold Coast for
ReplyDeletedead and as for Byron Bay. Wouldn't be seen dead in that place....crims,druggies
and weirdos galore.
Last visit to Byron Bay I wondered when some of the inhabitants last had a bath or shower...........I doubt whether some of them venture anywhere near the surf.
Glad you survived - ha ha.
Cheers
Colin
'Tis lovely on the Sunshine Coast, Surfers lost it's appeal, Byron Bay don't care for at all, great beach there though you should have seen the line of cars to the beach, miles longs!
DeleteOnce again, marvelous pictures, (yes, even the tunnel) Thanks for letting me tag along.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteThe picture of the light house is amazing..
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteOh yes, Byron Bay! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt was once but I suppose it still is for the younger people. Lots of road works going on when we were there and about time by the feel and look of those roads.
DeleteI hope you stopped by the lighthouse but it did seemed packed with cars.
ReplyDeleteWe have been there several times before Wong, didn't stop this time as no where to park at all.
DeleteThe first one is outstanding, living on the water, lovely.
ReplyDeleteLucky we were to get that spot at the caravan park.
DeleteFor me the quietness of the first photo has the most appeal.
ReplyDeleteRosemary, so very quiet there for the time we stayed.
DeleteI love the little shack built over the water, a fishing spot I assume, but how lovely to have shade and comfort while you fish or daydream.
ReplyDeleteYes many were fishing from that area.
DeleteIt was nice to drive with you. To see all foreign places. The first photo remains me a little of my country, but only a little.. because we do not have cabins at the pier. It looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat cabin was rather small and is what we call a boat shed.
DeleteI didn't know you had to pay! Times have certainly changed... but then it is years since I have been to Byron Bay.
ReplyDeleteByron Bay could see to make money by people going to the most Easter Point of Australia - advertise it more, and charge a fee - so people can say, 'oh, we have been to that place, :)
DeleteAh...the Sunshine Coast is my old stomping grounds...but anywhere south of the border, not so much.
ReplyDeleteThat photo of the little jetty reminds me of areas along the esplanade on the Noosa River at Noosaville.
Another group of great photos, Margaret. :)
Thanks Lee. Sunshine coast was many people's stomping ground as you call it, as was Surfers (Gold Coast).
DeleteWell that boat shed was near Maroochydore, so not far from Noosaville as the crow flies.
Lovely series of photographs.
ReplyDeleteI always like lighthouses!
All the best Jan
Lighthouses are always to me interesting, they do serve a great purpose.
DeleteThisSwiss Movement Rolex datejust provides a great case with well-preserved lugs,The Rolex Replica Watch silver dial doesn’t exhibit any major defects, and every one of its lume dots can be found and whole, with Datejust Replica Watch similar patina as around the hands. The folded Louis Vuitton Handbag Jubilee bracelet is within great condition, also it might actually be original towards the bags because it seemed to be created in 1969. This can be a Valentino handbags that does definitely not seem like it’s 47 years of age, and wears superbly around the hands.
