Continuing on a day trip we called into Squeaking Point which is a small town attached to Port Sorell, and Hawley.
Two women were fishing from the jetty.
That's a good question Cynthia. I found a radio program and there is a man who says that the sand was squeaky at the point, then the sand over time has gone, now there are pebbles - hence the name Squeaking Point..there is a theory about a ship and squealing pig but no documents were recorded of the ship ever being there etc. Interesting!
awww

ReplyDeleteA lovely place to be Teresa.
DeleteLove that name. It looks like a truly peaceful spot and I suspect I would be very happy sitting on that pier - even if the fish weren't biting.
ReplyDeleteIt's cute name and I've just found a reply to Cynthia's question which I found interesting.
DeleteBe lovely there fishing when you love to fish.
I hope the women were able to catch supper.
