Computers, one goes it seems, they all 'go'!
Bought a new tower computer Friday, my old one was giving me trouble and when all said and done it was 6 years old! So a new keyboard as the old one was 12 years old!
Recently I purchased a new laptop.
My husbands old mobile phone wouldn't turn on, so a new mobile phone for him. Then, for a few dollars the phone company were giving away a 'Tablet' 8", so that wasn't to be sneezed at either.
Then to top that off, his laptop hard drive gave up the ghost, so a new one was inserted and all seems well.
We headed along the Great Ocean Road towards Melbourne last November, 2015.
The Great Ocean Road is about 243 kls long and was built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and is dedicated to soldiers killed during World War 1.
The road is the world's largest war memorial. It winds through varying terrain along the coast and providing access to several prominent landmarks.
We have a view of Bass Strait, Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean.
The winds would be very cold at times in this area.
Along the road there are signs to tell travellers there is a look out.
nice beach
ReplyDeleteNo too bad there but I doubt if it's safe to swim
DeleteBeautiful island, beautiful sea and beautiful beach, I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou could stand and sit there all day looking at that.
DeleteMy favorite is the view of water, sky and those wonderful rocks!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful place by the sea there.
DeleteIt always seems strange that you are ahead with your timing ... already Saturday where you are - have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose beach views are absolutely glorious - the saying 'Wish I Was There' comes to mind.
All the best Jan
Beautiful there on a calm day, we were luck to have one, just a bit of a breeze.
DeleteTime difference - seasons as well.
Beautiful photos of the sea, sky, rocks and beach. Every thing is great!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely there Nancy.
DeleteThose pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe've switched completely over to laptops.
Thanks.
DeleteWe were going to do without our tower computers but didn't due to many reasons.
nice look outs and private beaches...what could be better
ReplyDeleteA calm day, it gets extremely cold there with the southerly winds coming up from Antarctica. There are seal lions near, whales and sharks at times.
DeleteMost of the beaches along there are covered with sea water when the tide comes right in, plus there are cliffs.
Occasionally we saw a path to a beach.
My computer has lasted longer than I expected. It had a problem with Windows but I feel that's Microsoft more than Compaq. And it was fixable but I lost all my files.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, not good when you lost your files. Have mine backed up but it's always a little worry.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous place!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovey there.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful. It invites you to swim in.
Wonderful the clear blue sea.
Many greetings,
Marco
Beautiful colour is that sea, and so clean, it's squeaky clean.
DeleteSounds like you have been having an expensive time - the ocean is a wonderful colour in the first photos.
ReplyDeleteI believe we could have a good long trip in Europe for the same price as our trips in Australia (last one was 3 months). Problem - my husband won't fly!
DeleteOh and yes, computers are expensive when they all have to be bought at once.
DeleteThe color of the water, the light of the sky and the texture of the rocks, they are important aspects to highlight in your photos.
ReplyDeleteKisses
They do indeed.
DeleteYikes M lots of money disappearing it sounds like:)Technology eh. Oh they are beautiful photos. Hugs xo G
ReplyDeleteComputers/phones/tablets, yes, costs a bit but that's the nature of our technology in this house.
DeleteThanks re photos and I do hope you are ok.....Hugs M xox
Sehr schöne Bilder vom Meer und vom Strand.
ReplyDeleteGruß
Noke
Thanks Noke.
DeleteSome wonderful views... Your posts always make me feel like I've been there.
ReplyDeleteWell I think that is lovely if you feel you have been there..I guess that some photos are about - to take you there to see what I see..
DeleteTry again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the confirmation of who built that road, I was not 100% sure that it was the returned soldiers, seaman and maybe airmen of WW1.
The labour situation in Australian was not the best and it was good to see that the government of day was able to assist with employment of these marvellous men.
Strange how no one above noticed this point in your excellent report on this magnificent area of southern Australia?
Well done.
Cheers
Colin
PS: and now back to the US Masters, I am up before those noisy choralist crows and their rendition of Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
This attempt I turned the golf off to reply - ha ha.
That's ok.
DeleteThere is an Arch somewhere along that road, but I'm not sure if we went under it. Will have to look that one up.
It is a wonder that no comment was made about the road being built.
Good to see you got up extra early to watch the Golf.
As long as those crows were not off key, that would be dreadful.
Margaret
DeleteI have never heard a melodious crow!
Off key, loud, persistent, and annoying.
I have other less complimentary and exceedingly
rude/vulgar words re: crows in my vocabulary.
Yes I recall there is an Arch along the coast.
Most impressive.
Colin
Margaret now you are a woman of 21 st century. The photos are great
ReplyDeleteThanks Gosia.
DeleteI really appreciate your pictures, thank you
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteHow interesting, that the road was dedicated to WWI veterans. It certainly has glorious views of the sea.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like with all your new purchases, your technology should be functioning well for quite some time now! We had to update our phones recently and got a free tablet, also. We didn't really need another one, but how can you say no to free!
Peaceful for peace times for the soldiers Cynthia.
DeleteLet's hope all our device work well for some time.
Oh well, a free tablet is certainly not to be sneezed at, we take it with pleasure and enjoy.
That is a nice little bay in the last photo but it looks like the beach disappears at high tide.
ReplyDeleteYes I reckon it would disappear at high tide, there are several beaches along the way all similar.
DeleteIt is a glorious area.
ReplyDeleteSigh on the technology front. Wonderful when it is working, so very frustrating when it isn't.
Very frustrating when things don't work, but we are lucky that we can use something else in this house, and I expect most people can.
DeleteBeautiful area there.
You have been spending up on the computers they all go at once or seem to.
ReplyDeleteNice sandy beaches and I do like the little islands.
Merle...............
All things were bought at different times over the years Merle, it was just the luck of the draw that they all went over a few weeks.
DeleteLots of birds on that island.
Hell yeah they all seem to make a pack to die all at once, funny how we can't manage without them when only a few of decades back we didn't have them
ReplyDeleteWe get so used to our technology things that we feel as if our arm is broken when we don't have them.
DeleteI remember those days with out our computers/phones, we did other things then but we were also much younger.
Your photos are so vivid and beautiful. I wish you a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mildred..and you too.
DeleteIt is such a magnificent coast line.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is.
DeleteLooks like a fabulous trip, we don't go down the Great Ocean Road nearly as often as we should!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos, Let's hope all the new gadgets are all in sync now and life's a breeze :)
Happy to have found your blog!
Wren x
All new gadgets are doing alright thanks :)
DeleteIt's often the way when we live not too far from a town or tourist attraction, we don't visit.
You are welcome re blog - and I found yours too :)
i didn't realize that the road was built by returned soldiers. what a magnificent tribute. it's also a very picturesque part of australia. my husband and i drove to melbourne from adelaide when the kids were much younger and it's a lovely drive. so many spots to stop and explore. your photos are great as usual. i enjoy armchair travelling with you lol hope you are well Margaret
ReplyDeleteA wonderful tribute to those soldiers.
DeleteGood memories for you then F.
Pleased you enjoy - yes, doing ok thanks.
That second photo is an island shaped cruise ship.
ReplyDeleteI love that final beach.
Does look like a ship. I do know that there were many ships from the old days that were shipwrecked in that area.
DeleteThe ocean and the rock formations are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteRather different in that area Andy.
DeleteGood evening!
ReplyDeleteJapan time is 9 pm on Saturday.
Always thanks to a nice message.
It is covered in Japanese cherry tree.
ARIGATOU !!
Ryoma.
Welcome to Okayama, the Land of Sunshine! Https://ryoma2sakamoto.wordpress.com/2016/04/01/welcome-to-okayama-the-land-of-sunshine/
The blossom tree is beautiful on your blog.
DeleteMy goodness, that's a lot of electronics to have to replace. You have my sympathy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics as always.
Happy weekend.
When one has so many gadgets and they all haywire within a few weeks on each other, it's a business replacing them for sure.
DeleteThanks re photos..
Enjoying the day with all new stuffs. Beautiful pics...
ReplyDeleteThank You.
DeleteLovely place!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
DeleteI like your ocean photos
ReplyDeleteThanks John.
DeleteStunning photos of that coastline.
ReplyDeleteComputers... technology in general... they purposefully don't make them to last so that you have to keep buying the latest gadget. It's such a scam - especially some brands that even make the various holes for cords to plug into a different size so that when you get a new gadget, all of the accessories have to be replaced too! Grrr.
Oh Yes, know what brands you are referring to. :)
Deleteglad you bought new computer for yourself and new mobile for your hubby hope now you will feel more relaxed about writing your posts ,
ReplyDeleteyour pics are source to learn and joy really beautiful sights ,sea has great attraction for me as i am less familiar to it but have plan to visit it in coming months in summer vacations may be
I'm aware that some places in this world are not close to the sea at all. We are fortunate that we live on an island, the sea is no more than 250km from the sea at any one point.
DeleteBeautiful pictures and enjoy the new digital gadgets and tools.
ReplyDeleteThank you we will.
