This week we have had the painter painting the down pipes and under the eaves of the house. Then a bit inside. The ceilings are going to be painted as well this coming week or two.
New gates are to be made for each side of the front of the house, and that will do for the time being as we await with much patience the arrival of the new caravan in late April.
These photos were taken a few years ago, I will take up to date ones shortly.
Actually, it looks like a nice, small, buzzy neighbourhood, just the type I like to spend time in.
ReplyDeletePleased to hear that the renovations are almost complete and anticipation is building for the "mansion on wheels".
It's an ok street 'the top end' of it, was once a dead area of the city but not now.

DeleteI noticed Sydney had nowhere near the number of tables and chairs on footpaths that Melbourne has. I'm afraid I am a person who likes to sit outside in the diesel fumes.

DeleteI sometimes like to sit outside unless the bees come after any food I might have. Or the ants. But I would not sit outside to watch the cars go by, if at a restaurant, because I can do that anywhere. I live in a town spread up one side down the other of a major freeway north and south, so car fumes are killer here all the time. I don't like them!

DeleteI do not like to sit outside to eat or drink. I'd rather be safe inside from bugs, heat and/or cold!!! It is a very pretty city. Best wishes with all the painting.

i have been reading your blog for years and i've decided that i'm going to save for a holiday to tassie. you sold me with your lovely photos. i'll let you know when i'm going to cross the tasman. :) i agree about the fumes when you are eating on the footpath. not good. the painting won't take long and how exciting about the caravan. you'll have lots of adventures in store

Yes, you need very wide footpaths away from the road for this outdoor dining stuff, plus
ReplyDeleteit is an obstacle course for pedestrians and shoppers when on narrow footpaths.
Classic European cities are excellent for it - Copenhagen is a good example.
Malls make outdoor dining excellent and outdoor dining in parks. I like the fresh air,
but not traffic fumes like what I suspect you would have in this Brisbane Street.

You are not wrong on what you say. All is true. We don't have enough room in our city for table and chair on the side of footpaths for coffee or light lunches..
DeleteI love to see those shops along the streets and at the base of these tall buildings. A great area to shop and enjoy the traffic.

DeleteSome lovely buildings in this street. Contrasting against those gorgeous blue skies makes them stand out even more.
