Just things!

About two days after the New Year this year our local supermarket, Woolworths had Easter Eggs and so on for sale, just a small display - a bit early I think.

Whilst there I took some photos as you drive out of the supermarket, the street is Hobart Road and about 5 minutes if the traffic lights are with you.  The last photo is the service station up the hill just before you turn the corner to go to our home.

The Maccas has just been redone, apparently the roof wasn't built correctly in the first place, the inside has been changed also.  I don't like Maccas as in the food and we rarely have it.  Maccas stands for MacDonalds.

  2. They should place some seats in front of the hotel door so grandpa can have a bit of a breather.

    1. Would be a good idea Hels, but, that area there is for those who can't walk far for their car, taxi to let them out very close to the door. There is an outdoor area to the left but it's got a fence around it.

  5. I haven't seen any Easter supplies in the store I shop but it's a Mexican market so I doubt I will. Maybe they will have some other candy.

    1. I guess markets don't necessarily sell Easter Eggs, they don't here either.

    1. Chocolate is something I don't eat often, never did. If I get a fad for it then I will but go years without eating it...strange one am I.

  9. With some nice tram history at the nearby cemetery. I suppose with hot cross buns everywhere already, we can't complain too much about chocolate eggs. It's a pity Woolworths at least, can't put more effort into procuring normal eggs. Their shelves have been empty for a couple of weeks. Oddly, Coles has eggs.

    1. Noticed Choclates first, then the buns followed.
Normal eggs, well that a thing, they don't always have any at all down here, we get our normal eggs from a veggie place called Youngs Veggie Shed, they always have eggs.
I also read why there is a shortage - because the chook owners are moving their chickens to free range and that takes time for the transition and it makes sense, also the time of year for cooking example at Christmas, there was a lot of reasons written and I can't remember then all, Andrew.

    1. Well I too think it's way too early to have Easter Eggs for sale, but the shop owners are wanted to make more money I suppose.

  15. I enjoyed seeing the photos around your area, thanks Margaret! Guess what I had this afternoon? A bar Cadbury's chocolate, one with caramel inside. I don't know whether they have Easter goods in our shops yet, but they always seem to have them really early. Happy February!

  16. Wow, that is really way too early for Easter Stuff. The candy is going to be anything but fresh by the time it's Easter. Nice pictures, loved the mailbox one.

  18. Easter eggs right after New Year do seem a bit early! It’s always interesting to see how quickly stores switch from one holiday to the next. I enjoyed your little tour from the supermarket to home.

  20. I also really think it's too early to start selling Easter chocolates, but traders often need to boost sales.

  22. Here in the UK we had Valentines Cards/gifts and Easter Eggs/chocolate all appearing in the stores just after Christmas ... it seems so early I wonder how many people do purchase them this early in the year?

    All the best Jan

    1. Well I guess some people would buy the Easter Eggs and so on, eat them and have to buy again. Valentines Day, yes saw cards a few days ago being sold, but that's fair enough as it's getting close, but not right after Christmas.
