Punchbowl Reserve not far from home and where we had many family picnics once. The Reserve has been around for many a year, once looked after by volunteers, now the City Council. There are barbecues, Toilets, seats and tables, ducks, Turbo Chooks (Native Hens) playground, a big area of green grass to play cricket, or run along. The walking paths are picturesque in the area.
These photos were taken on one my visits with two of the grandchildren a few years back.
A Tasmania Native Hen. We call them Turbo Chook because they run fast.
Beautiful photos of a beautiful environment.
ReplyDeleteYou photographed the Tasmania Native Hen very beautifully, my compliments.
Greetings Irma

DeleteAwesome bird!
ReplyDeleteIt is rather cute, something different.

You are welcome Katerina. Yes, the Native Hen doesn't look like a normal chook, certainly different and lives in the wild.

DeleteLinda reserva. Te da ganas de conocerla. Te mando un beso.

DeleteIt is nice to have a park where you can have a game of cricket or kick and ball around. The park looks very serene, and hopefully your grandchildren were too.
ReplyDeleteThe grandchildren enjoy there visit there, all of them infact have been there with us over time. One thing about that area many people can play cricket or whatever in the large area that is flat.
DeleteLooks like the perfect place to spend a sunny day.
ReplyDeleteOh yes that's for sure R. There is a small creek near by as well, so if enough water and not too many people you can hear the water flowing.
DeleteMaravilla de lugar y naturaleza Margaret. Preciosas todas las fotos.
ReplyDeleteBuen viernes.
Un abrazo.
Thank you Laura.
DeleteThe bird is a high-stepper!
ReplyDeleteSure is, different watching them walk about with their high step.

ReplyDeleteDid you, well you were not far from my place then, from memory we were travelling at the times as you were too. You are welcome.
DeleteIt looks a lovely place to take the grandchildren - I really like your new header showing my favourite Ginko biloba leaves.
ReplyDeleteYes it is good for the children, there are swings, slides etc there too. Ah! yes, I like that header too, the leaves look good. Those leaves may help with a few ailments I read Rosemary.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice place. Wonderful to enjoy and relax.
Nice for kids too, to see the nature.
The last shot is very funny.
Many greetings,
Marco
Our Native Bird is the last photo, something different as in a creature Marco.
DeleteWhat time of the year were the photos taken? The children are moving freely with lovely light clothing, and not a parka in sight.
ReplyDeleteThey were taken in mid October Hels. A warmer October I expect, though children run around and keep warm. It was a beautiful day though.
DeleteWhat a beautiful spot!!
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
Have to agree with you Donna.
