St. Helens is the largest town on the north east coast of Tasmania, Australia, on Georges Bay. The town is known for game fishing, renowned for it's oysters. It's about 160 km east of Launceston where I live. The road is rather windy to get there.
These photos were taken one time we stayed there in the caravan.
Beautiful place, wonderful sunset.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos 👏
Thanks Maria.
DeleteMargaret, nice place. Probably very windy.
ReplyDeleteI've never been there when it's windy but like most coastal areas there is wind.
DeleteDo you fish while you are there? Or drive one of those boats?
ReplyDeleteNo Hels, don't care for fishing we don't. Have been fishing there with some friends long time ago but I always wanted to put the fish back into the sea, I hated to see them suffer, however, I love fish to eat!
DeleteOur friends had a dingy.
Muy bellas imagenes
ReplyDeleteThanks you
DeleteLovely place.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice there Catarina.
DeleteHello Margaret,
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures.
Great to see this quiet place with the warm colors of the sun. A good moment to photograph and to be there on that place. Lovely!!
Many greetings,
Marco
I was lucky to be able to take these photos as I'm usually preparing dinner when the sun is setting or eating it Marco..

ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteMi favorita es la segunda foto. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, with the tree.
DeleteThank you JP.
The north coast always seems so calm and placid.
ReplyDeleteIt does Andrew, only ever stuck a really windy day many years ago - we have been lucky.
DeleteI googled the town and region.
ReplyDeleteCertainly has a history and would make bird fanciers happy with
a bird sanctuary.
I don't think I'd like to visit in winter or with storms.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr! And I hate the cold.
Cheers
Colin
Thanks Colin.
DeleteThe weather is alright on the east coast of the Island in winter, it's warmer than most places in Tasmania and weather is milder for some reason. Certainly would be a bit cold from where you live though.
It looks beautifully peaceful.
ReplyDeleteThe town gets rather busy in summer, and I'm sure you would enjoy staying there in a house over looking the sea and watching the sunsets and sunrise R.
DeleteWhat great photos.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite photo is number two.
Greetings Irma
That is a nice one with the tree there.
DeleteCaptivating sunsets dear Margaret !

Thank you Baili.
DeleteYou captured a perfect sunset at the end of what must have been a memorable day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosemary, most days a memorable for whatever reason.
DeleteMicrosoft Copilot says St. Helens gets its name from St. Helens, Isle of Wight. I was wondering if it had been named for the same Lord for whom our volcano was named.
ReplyDeleteThat's correct Bill, Copilot is handy at times.
DeleteI wouldn’t be going for the oysters, but the scenic beauty would draw me in.
ReplyDeleteLove oysters and used to take them off the rocks when much younger when we children went in the dingy to get them, loved them ever since then.
DeleteBeautiful view!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne.
DeleteBuen lugar para pasar unas buenas vacaciones. Preciosas fotos.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Thank you Laura.
DeleteThat sounds like a place that I would love to visit! I learned most of what I know about Australia from House Hunters, which is actually not a lot. But it looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove your son's Jeep by the way!
Son loves his Jeep too...thank you.
DeleteWell you would find out a little from the House Hunters, it probably gave you the taste to look further, hence my blog maybe.
A beautiful area!
ReplyDeletehugs
