Houses

Blackstone Heights is a surbub of Launceston and was established several years ago yet it's still rather new.  Some of the houses are built on top of rocks all bunched together other houses are not.  The river is the South Esk and ski boats go up and down that river in the summer annoying the people who own the houses, the noise echos.  A friend of mine had to sell her family home because of the noise as she was a Registered Nurse and worked night duty thus couldn't sleep during the day due to noise.
I've taken a few family homes and will show more in another post later on.

  1. I can imagine that you wouldn't want to live there if there was so much noise.
I think the houses are beautiful.

    1. I wouldn't live there at all Irma. It doesn't appeal to me. There is not a Supermarket and a Restaurant up that way, nice food as we ate there awhile back.

  2. Those are some BIG houses. I would love to live somewhere with water views - but hadn't considered the noise aspect. Your poor friend.

    1. They are rather large, most of them are. Always lovely looking over water but in this case it didn't pay off for my friend.

  3. Son unas bonitas casas, que deben ser bastante confortables por dentro y bien rodeadas , por una prodigiosa naturaleza. Cualquier persona, le gustaría vivir en alguna de ellas.

    1. The houses would be spacious inside I expect and not too cluttered.

  5. The houses look quite nice, but you can't have it all. Sometimes it's noise, sometimes a bad neighbor, and other potential poblems.

    1. They are nice houses, some appeal and other don't. It is a shame about the noise and it does roar up the river as I've heard it, but I suppose over time one would get used to it, well I think I would.

    1. It's hard enough sleeping in the daytime as it is without interruptions Denise.
I've done night duty but lived in a quiet area, my problem was getting enough sleep as I didn't get into bed till 11am and had to be up by 4pm to eat and drive to the hospital in the country. I got there though.

  9. It would be such a shame to have a house in that the location but be driven mad by noise. Jet skis used to spoil a beach experience here but they seem much quieter than they used to be.

    1. Same here River, I suppose people didn't think about the ski boats and such when they bought the land to build there.

  12. Bad for day sleepers, for sure--- Surely the ski boats are not a new thing. Buyers must have known about them.

    1. I'm sure some of the buyers would have known but they probably thought inside the house the noise wouldn't be so loud...just a theory of mine.

  24. Well, noise has long been the enemy of man, and when it occurs during the time of rest and rest, it becomes a serious problem. But overall, the houses are very beautiful, spacious, large and look very expensive. I like them. And let me add that it's nice to see beautiful sunshine and a non-winter landscape.
    Regards! :)
