Hollybank is not that far from Launceston, Tasmania and we've been several times before in the autumn and winter usually on a nice day. The scenery is different each time we go so the photos are always different too. There are plenty of walks to do, and cricket pitch or it's just a nice peaceful place to visit or have a picnic.
Wattle leaves - soon be wattle time, looking forward to the beautiful yellow flowers.
Holly in the winter at Hollybank.
Finally the sun peeked through
Cuiden ese maravilloso bosque de los incendios! que por este momento azotan a muchas regiones de la tiera.
ReplyDeleteSaludos margaret
Oh yes Norma, fires do a lot of damage to everything.
DeleteLooks like a beautiful place to explore, nice and peaceful too.
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful you can hear a pin drop there Bill, sometimes 'things' echo.
DeletePosto molto bello e rilassante dove passare una vacanza, ciao Margharet e buon ferragosto se li da voi viene festeggiato, un abbraccio Angelo.
ReplyDeleteYes it is a relaxing place Angelo - no holiday down here as yet, when summer comes.
DeleteThe trees have 'presence'; tall, thin and upstanding! I like this, and I like how the sun peeks through them.
ReplyDeleteWhen we first arrived there was no sun, and just as I was taking photos the sun peeked through but it wasn't strong Duta.
DeleteLooks like a really beautiful place! And you took some really gorgeous pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie, yes, it really is a lovely place there.
DeleteEl paisaje cambia según la estación del año. Muy bonitas fotografías has hecho.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
Thank you, yes landscape always changing also with the light and sun too.
DeleteLove those straight tree trunks. I noticed this week that our wattle is well on the way to coming out in its golden glory. Lots of the city is blazing with it already.
ReplyDeleteSome our wattle is out, other not yet will hunt some down as I do love wattle EC.
DeleteI have been to Launceston but not to Hollybank, the photos are bloody good ones that I do so like
ReplyDeleteAmid nature at Hollybank Jo-Anne and also a nice place to visit or go for a walk in the many tracks there.
DeleteThese trees are so gorgeous. It would have been a great look in sunrise.
ReplyDeleteAny time there is a good time, it always looks so different except for the barbecue areas and the loos. It's just something different to see.
DeleteFunny, desolate place for a cricket pitch!
ReplyDeleteThe ball wouldn't get far.
Actually it looks spooky. The trees are so straight. What species
are they?
Cheers
Colin
Weekends it's a lot busier and in summer when the children play cricket on the flat ground between the loos and one of the barbecues there, it's lots of fun so the children say, Colin.
DeleteThe trees in the photos were planted and are Radiata Pine.
Una bella serie de imagenes de naturaleza, amiga
ReplyDeleteThank you Ildefonso.
DeleteWonderful series of photos.
ReplyDeleteI really like the holly.
Greetings Irma
Good to see holly growing, it's about the only place I know that does here in the north of the State. Thank you Irma.
DeleteI could spend a few hours pointing my camera at things in this wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you would Bill.
DeleteThat looks like a commercial pine plantation. If it is, I wonder how much native vegetation was removed to make way for it.
ReplyDeleteNo it's not a commercial pine plantation David. The land was purchased for farming in the 1850 so hence cleared. The land became a forest reserve and in the mid 1970's Parks Tasmania took over the care of it apparently.
DeleteA link to visit if you have time: https://parks.tas.gov.au/things-to-do/60-great-short-walks/hollybank
I Love the wattle leaves!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
Thank you Donna, have one of those printed out in a frame :)
DeleteHolly and wattle in the same garden :) Impressive!
ReplyDeleteThat's true Hels, it's a place of nature though I haven't seen a great deal of holly in the area.
DeleteLooks a peaceful walking place, and aptly named with the holly you found.
ReplyDeleteApparently a good place to walk on the tracks/paths amid the vegetation.
DeleteLovely to see the holly in your photographs
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Thanks Jan, only place I know that has holly but I'm sure some of the old farms do grow it.
DeleteBellissimo posto adatto per tante passeggiate. Immagino i meravigliosi cambi di colore delle varie stagioni ... Che spettacolo
ReplyDeleteYes it's rather pretty in the autumn time Stefania.
DeleteYou are right. Visiting the same place at different times makes you notice how many faces nature has.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does and often looks totally different.
DeleteLooks a lovely place Margaret. I enjoyed your nature photos very much.
ReplyDeleteThank you Denise.
DeleteLove trees, given trees hugs for me.
ReplyDeleteI will...the trees are wonderful.
DeleteHolly looks so beautiful and peaceful. Thanks for the beautiful photos. Have a good day Margaret :)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteHollybank is another beautiful place to visit. I am sure that a walk there is priceless.
ReplyDeleteCricket is not popular in my country,
I'm sure you would have a good time running through the bush on the pathways. Some people do get bored with cricket as it's mostly a rather slow game but they do have variations to make it quicker.
DeleteSe ve todo tan precioso que me encanta. Abrazos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Teresa.
DeleteFantastic place!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of the holly with the berries.
Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome Maria, every time we go to Hollybank I always look for the holly but of course there is none in summer.
DeleteWonderful place and photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteBeautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Hena.
DeleteA beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteA nice peaceful one Anne.
DeleteLovely place to visit, Margaret. Despite the fact I have a bit of a thing against radiata pine. There are far too many of them here now in my opinion. Your photos of them are lovely though.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pauline. I don't care for pines either especially in the plantations as you drive along, certainly not my thing but they grow them, make wood chips, grow them but at Hollybank that doesn't happen, they just stay there.
DeleteLooks like a tranquil place to relax and meditate.
ReplyDeleteThose trees are beautiful.
Loved the gorgeous photos, Margaret
Thank you Veronica.
DeleteWhat immediately catches my eye is the purity of the forest, apart from trees, almost nothing grows ... You're right, such places look different and interesting at any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteIn one area there nothing seems to grow for some unknown reason, there are places like that unfortunately. Some of that area is very shaded too.
