Down at Eaglehawk Neck is a blowhole, it's spectacular to see when in full swing, I've seen it many years ago and of cause I did get drenched back then. This time we visited the sea was calm.
A short walk up a little hill takes you to the lookout below is the view.
Spectacular views!
ReplyDeleteWas magic standing there looking out to see Catarina.
DeleteBeautiful scenery Margaret, a lovely place to visit for sure :) Stormy seas would make the blowhole an impressive sight. I am trying to catch up with my blogging friends after my bout with Covid. I still haven't gotten my sense of smell and taste back yet. Thank you for all the thoughtful comments, very much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Denise, and I'm pleased you are recovering.
DeleteIt is a beautiful place there.
Very nice:)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeletePreciosa costa rocosa. Muy buenos los paisajes de las fotografías.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
Thank you, many rocks around that area.
DeleteBeautiful views!
ReplyDeleteWas wonderful standing there looking out to sea Bill.
DeleteBlowholes are fascinating - and I am sure that you are not alone in being drenched by that one.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got drenched so did everyone else who was there, seems if the sea is rough many flock to the blowhole EC.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Jo-Anne.
DeleteThis blow hole would be marked for my next visit to Tassie!
ReplyDeleteGood idea.
DeleteMe encantó ver esos paisajes. Un abrazo Margaret.
ReplyDeleteThat's good Teresa :)
DeleteBlow holes! Great for having that shower you forgot to take either
ReplyDeletelast night or this morning. Well it does save you money on your water bill which by the way is going up here at the rate of knots.
They are also dangerous so don't get too close - the one at Kiama on the
south coast of NSW has some victims on its history books !!!!!
Snazzy looking sea cruiser - I can almost see the dollar bills flying on
its radio mask.
Excellent photography - well done.
Cheers
Colin who is greatly annoyed by the press on "the Tall Poppy Syndrome"
which has become a sickness of the Aussie press - mirrows might be needed???
Have been to the Kiama blowhole, magic one that one though the day we were there it wasn't rough and not a lot of water came up the hole.
DeleteThat cruiser goes right down south, need good gear to go down there Colin.
Haven't heard or read about that Aussie press being 'silly'.
What a spectacular part of the world. Love blowholes - except the one that claimed the life of my camera at Noosa years ago.
ReplyDeleteOh really, it took your camera..oh dear all your photos.
DeleteGosh, this is just too beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely Angie.
DeleteThere's one on the Oregon Coast--- "The Devil's Churn"
ReplyDeleteI'll look it up.
DeleteWhat a beautiful landscape with beautiful views.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a blowhole, let alone seen anything like it.
Greetings Irma
Blowholes are good for getting wet Irma..lol
DeleteA gorgeous place to just sit and listen to the sounds of the sea...
ReplyDeletehugs
Donna
That's for sure Doona, though the day we went could hardly hear the sea for it was so calm.
DeleteIt really is a very dramatic coastline.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, most of the coastline around Tasmania.
DeleteUn vero e proprio paradiso terrestre
ReplyDeleteAh yes Stefania, I agree.
DeleteBeautiful area! The photos and the description are very beautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and commenting, it gave me great joy!!
Good afternoon from Greece
You are very welcome. You live a long way away.
DeleteNothing can compete with this triangle of: sky, sea, cliff- that offers a great view of the whole scene.
ReplyDeleteHave to take it all in, don't we Duta.
DeleteSurely that hole in the rock can be dangerous for some distracted swimmer. Best regards Margaret
ReplyDeleteNo one swims in there Norma, too dangerous.
DeleteI won't be going walking there in the dark of night. Actually, I don't go walking anywhere...day or night! :)
ReplyDeleteThere is a fence around the blowhole Lee, lights on the walk up to the lookout but can understand why you wouldn't do it, walk to there that is.
DeleteWonderful scenery, a real heaven on the earth. I love the coastline with rocks, it reminds my youth and the period I spent in the Naval Base of La Maddalena (Sardinia).
ReplyDeleteAlways good to have something to remind us of good times, well hopefully they were.
DeleteThe pictures are beautiful. The blowhole is awe.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bob.
DeleteWhat a beautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Hena.
DeleteThe views are dazzling, Margaret!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a blowhole in person.
Hugs and blessings
When the sea is rough it's much better.
