Flood

Well it's springtime down this end of the world.
There has been a bit of rain upstream from Evandale, well a lot of rain and the water flows into the South Esk River near Evandale, Tasmania, Australia.  Also near Evandale is the Launceston Airport. I have a best friend living in Evandale so after visiting her we went to the river to find the road closed.
It's a good place for a picnic and a swim but no loos.  People take their dogs for walks along the river bank, no camping permitted either.

  4. Around here, almost at the end of the world, on September 21 spring begins. It is then that days alternate with rain, sun, cold... this causes the plants to sprout.

    1. You have a bit of time to wait then for spring and on September 1, it was the beginning of our spring...take care. It's great to see all the new growth in the garden and trees begin after winter.

  6. Autumn is about to arrive over here, and we also got a little bit of rain, which is good, as it has been really dry.

    1. Oh yes, it's so good to have rain after a very dry spell as long as the rain stops and doesn't do any flood damage Angie.

    1. Oh really, must have rained a lot then EC, not much rain in our area but in others hence the river has overflowed.

  8. At least the flooding was not bad in Evandale - I have just been watching the dreadful floods in Pakistan where a third of the country is now under water. Climate change has definitely arrived. Here we are desparate for rain, our ground is baked dry - it is desperate for some moisture.

    1. One can take a bit of water that's in the river in Evandale but Pakistan, well that is another story, just heartbreaking. Hope you get rain soon Rosemary as long as it knows when to stop.

  12. I didn't notice that you had significant rain. Probably doesn't take much to flood there.

    1. We here in Launceston didn't have much rain but some places did have a fair bit nothing drastic but the water flows into that river.

  14. Wonderful photos and beautiful scenery.
It's still summer here and very warm and we haven't had any rain for months, shipping can carry much less, we have the lowest water level ever.

  16. I think as well it is said that it is climate change but these images of flood rain over there, and around here extreme drought and talk about water restrictions.
    Best regards.

    1. Goodness, let's hope it rains in your country soon. We often have water restrictions of different levels throughout Australia.

  17. It seems that the whole world is best by either drought or floods. And still the world resists concrete action in the face of drastic climate change that is already here.

  20. Parece que no ha habido excesivos daños. Mientras una parte del mundo padece sequía , en otra hay inundaciones. Tan malo es una cosa, como la otra.

  21. The clouds in your photographs still look quite dark, there may be more rain to fall.

Meanwhile here in the UK we are heading into Autumn, one of my favourite seasons.

    All the best Jan
