When you are in Huonville it's not that far to the top of Mt. Wellington, Tasmania, Australia.
At Easter time we headed up the mountain as it's only about 36 kms from Huonville.
The mountain can be seen from many points and areas around Hobart, the Capital of Tasmania. The day was fairly clear to capture these photos but I've been up there on clearer days. More photos next post.
Mt. Wellington is 1,271m high was first climb in 1798.

The first photo taken on the way up. The others also towards the top and the last two at the top.
Yes it snows up there in winter and sometimes if a cold snap there can be a dusting of snow in summer.
Beautiful view!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely view and certainly worth going up that mountain.
DeleteI understand that Hobart, Tasmania's capital, is at the foot of the mountain, which offers amazing views of the city.
ReplyDeleteThat's correct Duta.
Deletewow what gorgeous view!
ReplyDeleteTakes you breath away at times.
DeleteYet more beautiful views from your beautiful State. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome EC. Lovely up there but of course it can be bitterly cold.
DeleteViendo los paisajes, se deduce que hay una considerable altura. Lo bueno es que la subida la has hecho en coche.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Yes we went in our car. Bike riders ride up there, people go walking up there and of course most of them would be training for races I presume.
DeleteWow, I never imagined such spectacular views. Is the road up there not paved?
ReplyDeleteNo point in going for the view if not a clear day, the clearer the better. Bitumen all the way up, a good car park with a lookout covered in, the other lookouts too and loos. We walk around in a circle at the top. Certainly worth a trip up there, the road is a bit windy but that is expected.
