The Lighthouse near the mouth of the Mersey River in Devonport, Tasmania helps guide The Spirit of Tasmania and a few freight ships into the river to berth. The lighthouse is built on a stone base and is made of bricks, was built in 1889.
Yesterday we drove north west up to Devonport just 100km from home, my parents are buried in the lawn cemetery there and we visited putting flowers on their graves.
The area the photos were taken yesterday is known as 'The Hat'.

I like to see and visit lighthouses. It does not happen often.

There are quite a few lighhouses on this Island but that's expected being an Island so often see one when close to the sea in certain areas.

Yes the lighhouse is good, 3 stripes but I wasn't going down on the rocky surface at my age to take a photo of the 3 stripes :)
One of my places to visit are lighthouses. This one is a beauty.

DeleteIt's a very stylish lighthouse and looks more modern than its age, I guess because of the way it is painted.
