Dreadful thing to happen, fire.
On August 17, 2019 a fire engulfed the amenities building at the Huonville Caravan Park and it was burnt to the ground.
Cause was a dryer, the filter in one of them had not been cleaned out so hence great damage was done.
By the time we arrived there in December 2019 for Christmas the amenities were rebuilt, so photos of the fire remains in the first photo then of the new amenities.
There are many toilets and showers as it's a rather large park. Every shower has different tiles and shower head, there is certainly one suitable for everyone.
We have to be so careful... wherever we are...
ReplyDeleteWe do indeed.
DeleteGlad that everything was rebuilt. I suppose that banks of fryers like this are always a bit of a hazard, when different people are using them each day.
ReplyDeleteIt is a hazard when so many people use the dryers, but, the people that 'run' or are in 'charge' of the caravan park should also each day in my opinion clean the filters! They are caretakers or owners, plus I suppose their staff who do the cleaning should check the filters.
DeleteI think the place looks clean and nice!Sorry about that fire though
ReplyDeleteLovely clean place and was clean before the fire, most places are like that, only an odd one not so clean.
DeleteFire is a dreadful thing. The rebuilt amenities look great. I clean our dryer's filter each time I use it, and it is good to see a reminder about why it is such a good thing to do.
ReplyDeleteReminded me to clean my filter out in the dryer more often, not that I used a dryer that much even in winter.
DeleteSad to hear it burnt down. At least no one was injured and now there is a beautiful new building to replace it.
ReplyDeleteAn expensive operation to rebuild, was told how much but have forgotten.
DeleteYou must have noticed how much facilities in caravan parks have improved over the years. When I was quite young, they were so basic.
ReplyDeleteWe have been travelling then home for summer since 2000 and things sure have changed in that time. Now people demand more - camping is not like it used to be, well for a few maybe.
DeleteThe new ones look good fire = nothing good
ReplyDeleteVery nice there Jo-Anne...fire is never good.
DeleteWhile it was sad to see the photos of the fire remains, the new facilities certainly looked nice and hopefully will continue to be enjoyed safely for years to come. We have stayed in many hotels with washer/dryer facilities and always check the filters first, just like at home.
ReplyDeleteAlways good policy to check the filters.
ReplyDeleteMe alegro de que todo se haya recuperado
ReplyDeleteUn saludo, amiga
Yes, it's great that the caravan park is still functioning after the fire there. Only a few people were permitted into the park whilst they were rebuilding the amenities as there are private showers and toilets at extra cost.
DeleteWow-- those dryers are hard to reach if a load of wet stuff! What a great park, though, to have such nice amenities.
ReplyDeleteI can reach the dryer easily, and if you can't there is usually someone around who can and will, so that is good.
DeleteAlways welcome to have clean new amenities and most are very clean in our travels. We have our own shower in the caravan and washing machine.
Se llevaría un buen susto todos los que estuvieran alojados. Afortunadamente sólo hubo daños materiales y después de la Restauración, todo ha quedado bastante bien.
ReplyDeleteBesos
When the fire happened it was not a busy time so that was good in one way..nice to have new ones though.
DeleteNice and clean place
ReplyDeleteYes, and it's cleaned several times a day when there are a few people staying there.
DeleteSorry about the fire. The rebuilt place is nice and clean and so comfortable.
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteNancy, they are cleaned well, even the older ones were too.
Fires are always terrible.
ReplyDeleteThe reconstruction was spectacular, amazing place.
Take care and all the best for you.
Fires and floods, just nowhere to go when they arrive.
DeleteThanks Maria.
Me alegro de que lo hayan reconstruido, además lo han hecho en prácticamente tres meses. Lo que más me gusta aparte de lo funcional, son esos grandes ventanales que dan paso a la luz natural.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo, Margaret.
The more natural light the better.
DeleteThey must have quite a number on their cleaning staff...big job.
ReplyDeleteThey do Lee when busy.
Deletefires are scary indeed and cause terrible loss dear Margaret
ReplyDeleteit was nice feeling to see the new version of building ,everything looks neat and pretty and you shot it beautifully
wishing you your family and your land much peace and happiness my friend!
Thank you Baili..
DeleteFire is a dreadful thing to happen, I am pleased that everything was rebuilt.
