Up the Central Plateau

Central Highland, Central Plateau, The Lake Country, The Highlands of Tasmania all refer to the one large area.
Up that way there is a town called Miena and boy it's cold in winter when the breeze blows, the temperature during the winter days will be about 5deg C and overnight - 3deg C.  It can snow up there but doesn't hang around for long.

Sunset on the way home

The above is a bush walking track on the way down from the plateau.
Also one of the mountains called Projection Bluff.

Part of the Great Lake.

Typical of the shacks up on the Central Plateau mostly people that own them and go fishing.

Shannon Lagoon.  Both photos taken when moving

Was a lovely red sunset that night, and was lucky to be able to take the photo of it...usually at sunset I'm home.

    1. It does - was just gorgeous for me to see, at home we don't have that type of view.

  5. Me gusta la puesta de sol y las imágenes del lago.

Es curioso que cuando pasamos frío en invierno nos acordamos del verano y cuando las temperaturas de verano se elevan mucho, nos acordamos del invierno.

    1. That's true what you say. I think thinking the opposite helps keep us warm in winter and cool in summer.

  6. MORE delightful photos. Thank you.
We often get lower than minus three (and are at that point as I comment). Wind makes it feel nastier.

    1. Oh my, I do believe it's colder in the early am than here in Launceston most mornings where you live.
You have hotter and longer summer warmth.

    1. It is a pretty area all around up there in the Lake Country. There is a pub up there somewhere with accommodation it's just been sold, new owners take over in October I believe.
Have been watching the tennis with interest - and good on 'K', he did well. Can't see him going much further.

    1. Definitely worth a drive Rosie, can do a round trip near enough, stop at the Pub near Miena for lunch or a coffee. Can do it in a day but be a longish one to see it all.

Always good to have something different but not always possible.
Once we went up to the Shannon there in the photo and walked on ice with no thought of what would happen if we fell through...lol
