Back to March holiday 2019

Before Easter this year we went for a holiday and I'm continuing the photos from back then.  The last photos are [ here ]  just to jog the memory for those that don't recall :)

Stayed near Hobart the capital city of the Island then off to a picnic and back up the east coast of Tasmania calling into Orford a fishing port, then further up the road to the Devils Kitchen, a winery with an award winning architecturally designed building. 
There is a restaurant and a lookout including the cellar door.

    Almost certainly I will return to Australia, but I doubt it will include a return visit to Tasmania unfortunately. I am always torn between returning to somewhere I really enjoyed and visiting somewhere new.

      That's the way it is and a long way to travel. It's always pleasing to find a place we haven't been when traveling Australia, hard to find a new place for several years now.

    It's a great view from the lookout. I can see how much dryer the east coast is than inland.

      Once the lookout was at the top of the hill on side of road which was a bit dangerous. Always drier on the east coast unfortunately for them.

    Quite an attractive setting. The countryside looks OK to me and luckily
    it appears that Tassie has plenty of large lakes for water irrigation.

      We do have lakes for hydro power and irrigation, however the east coast is always drier, grass browner than the remainder of the island.

    Great photos! You are making me think more about a trip to Tassie, just got to get my husband to agree which probably won't be too difficult. We are going north again for this winter but may go to Tasmania in autumn or spring next year.
