Have been to Mackay many times when travelling and we could see this large expanse of beach but never knew which road to take - finally we did and was rather disappointed. The beach is far below the road, the parking area spaces is small, but then again I expect people don't often swim in the sea here due to the creatures that will mostly likely sting us.
Building some steps down to the beach.
The car park.
We have more issues here with stinkin' rays
ReplyDeleteOh do you..They are further up north here..
DeletePretty beach
ReplyDeleteIt rather nice.
DeleteLa playa es preciosa. cuando se finalice las obras habrĂ¡ un buen acceso.
ReplyDeleteBesos
It's an ok beach have been on lovelier ones here at home. Certainly will be safer going down on the new steps, I expect they are finished now.
DeleteI haven't visit a for a long time. :(
ReplyDeleteBeen busy I guess :)
DeleteA beach that you cannot swim in seems sad to my greedy self.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery though.
All beaches up north you really can't swim in but people do, there are nets in some of them which is a help.
DeleteThanks re scenery, and it is lovely.
Boxed jellyfish are horrible if they sting you
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are Jo-Anne, never been in the sea where they are, only paddled at the edge but I expect that's not a good idea either.
DeleteStay away from those jellyfish, the sign is helpful. Do people take vinegar with them to the beach?
ReplyDeleteMany people do, at some beaches vinegar is provided in a box on a pole which is a good idea.
DeleteThe reason to carefully read signs.
ReplyDeleteNo sympathy from me to those who get stung.
Colin
Totally agree Colin, always signs at beaches if swimming is not safe, some people think they know better unfortunately.
DeleteIt looks like a lovely expanse of sand and water, but the box jellyfish would have me nowhere near the waves. it would be one beach I would never visit because I love to paddle.
ReplyDeleteFair enough, I too like to paddle but not in those waters.
DeleteAnnoying critters--- Still, it is a beautiful spot.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely there.
DeleteHere we can swim only occasionally and can come across a blue octopus on a rare occasion which are not nice either.
What a beautiful beach, shame about the Jelly fish.
ReplyDeleteYes it is lovely there - always something in the sea that's not nice for humans.
DeleteEven the non lethal stings of jellyfish can be extremely painful and the effect long lasting.
ReplyDeleteTrue.
DeleteThe beach is so beautiful, but I think I would also be afraid to swim for fear of finding some Jelly fish.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend
Warm hugs
Maria
Divagar Sobre Tudo um Pouco
I wouldn't swim in there Maria if there were nets to protect it would be alright.
DeleteIts a shame the northern beaches are so full of dangerous stingers or crocs. They look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame Diane, people mostly sunbake on those beaches.
DeleteBest to stay away from the jelly-fish.
ReplyDeleteThat beach looks gorgeous though …
All the best Jan
It is a nice beach..
DeleteI stepped out of my boat at the boat ramp at Victor Creek...just north of Seaforth...one morning...when I was running Newry Island...and there in the water was a massive box jellyfish....I steered well clear of it!!
