Emerald Botanic Gardens.
To the west of Emerald is an area known as The Gemfields, with small towns such as Sapphire and Rubyvale indicating the type of gems found there.
The sapphire fields located there are the largest in the southern hemisphere.

Was lovely to stroll along the footpaths within the grounds of the gardens, always some different plant to see.

Bamboo isn't all that far behind.
The park looks to be well maintained, maybe to keep the two curses in check.
You are doing well with your coverage of all - the good, the bad and the ugly on this 2017 "escape" from the chills of Tassie to the warmth of the tropics.

It's true that Bamboo can get WAY out of hand, but I enjoyed your pictures (and the cactus) nonetheles!

The cacti are amazing, so pretty. Emerald, Sapphire and Rubyvale, can they be linked by a circle? Like a necklace? Where's my map...
