There is a service station just a little out of the town and they had the best fish and chips I had tasted so far on our holiday in winter 2016.
I took a few photos of the small town, the main street.
The Aboriginal Centre
A church in the main street.
Didgeridoos for sale.
Trees to keep you cool in the main street.
I'd love to have one of those didgeridoos! The looks like a really fun place to spend some time.
ReplyDeleteLots of nook and cranny's there. Lots of things to see up that way, it does get crowded when the bus loads come.
DeleteMargaret the main street looks great trees give a lot of shadow. I love the white church..
ReplyDeleteA lovely little church Gosia, the light wasn't in the right place though when I took that photo.
DeleteShade trees are a must up there as they are needed when shopping or just looking.
Fascinating. Everything is so colorful.
ReplyDeleteWould be rather a dreary place up there without all that bright colour.
DeleteWonderful photos for them I thank you
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcome Jo-Anne..
DeleteInteresting buildings, identifying of the architecture of that municipality.
ReplyDeleteKisses
Very different architecture up there that's for sure.
DeleteIt looks a lovely place. Welcoming...
ReplyDeleteOne always feels at home up there, well I do.
DeleteLovely photo's ... especially the Didgeridoos.
ReplyDeleteWe owned one once, but I could never play it. I admire those who can
All the best Jan
Did you own one once, never had the desire to learn to play one, wouldn't have enough 'wind'!
DeleteBeautiful shady streets.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that's for sure as shade is needed up there.
DeleteI remember catching the train up to Kuranda many years ago, and was struck by it's beauty.... and very touristy!
ReplyDeleteAlways good to remember the lovely things we once saw.
DeleteKurunda has some really great restaurants and the pub meal is excellent.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately like all touristy places buying souvenirs is damn pricy, especially
the clothes. However to go to Cairns and then not take this trip, well words
fail me..........madness I think sums it all up!
Great photos as usual Margaret, you should be on commission!!!
Cheers
Colin
I bought a scarf an Aboriginal one was expensise.
DeleteThanks Colin.
What marvelous finds you have brought us. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
DeleteIt was nice wandering around the Kuranda streets and good to see them again now.
ReplyDeleteNot many people about when we were there it was too late in the day - but always good to see the town.
DeleteLooks nice place to spend time. And all looks so different as we have here in North. I really enjoy to see all your photos. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome :)
DeleteBeing a music addict, I certainly love the didgeridoos, and I love the boat, great photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob.
DeleteLots of wind required for the didgeridoo, I tried is once without success.
The building in the first photo looks like a ship. Nice looking place!
ReplyDeleteYes it does look like a ship and I'm not sure what the significance of it is.
DeleteAnywhere with good fish and chips is a winner in my book!
ReplyDeleteGot to be good and not every place is as good.
