Tropical Forest near Lake Morris, Cairns. Queensland.
Post below.
Taken whilst the car was moving, so not totally sharp.
Tree ferns, tops are same as we have in our rain forest in Tasmania.

This one was taken near the Cafe
This is a dream destination for a birder. I would love to visit Queensland but I doubt that I ever will!
ReplyDeleteMany birds in that bush there Davis, you never know you might get here.
Deleteso beautiful... it reminds me my trip to Hawaii 7 years back..
ReplyDeleteA tropical place too - similar trees and know doubt some the same.
DeleteLooks a bit like Tampa. Except don't you have some hills down that way? Flat as a pancake here.
ReplyDeleteMostly hills and mountains in the Cairns area, only flatter by the sea.
DeleteLush and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is every time we have visited.
DeleteEverything is so huge in Australia. :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic nature and lovely photos.
Certainly is a big country when you consider all of Europe and a bit more will fit within Australia.
DeleteThanks.

ReplyDeleteThey are nice those ferns, they do stand out in the rain forest.
DeleteSo nice, bloody great photos
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo-Anne...one day you might get to Cairns in the winter.

DeleteVery impressive pictures Thanks for the show around
ReplyDeleteThanks and you are welcome.
DeleteWonderful big green leaves so so pretty.
ReplyDeleteMerle.................
Those leaves are very big - nice to get under for shade.
DeleteLove the big leaves on plant. Reminds me I should be drinking ice tea. Instead of hot chocolate like here in Idaho.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Ok, coffee instead of tea then, well for you.
DeleteI love tropical rain forests, the lush greenery, the brilliant splash of an occasional flower. So beautiful. Heaven for me would be a house on a cliff with a rain forest behind and an ocean in front.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture you tell there River, would be nice.
Deleteloved these shots .though you took from running car still lenses and handling are amazing .
ReplyDeleteRain forests are dream destinations for me as we do not have any near to us .But through your brilliant photos i can feel the freshness of breeze and delight of senses !

Full of green...
ReplyDeleteLots of green there in Cairns, never seen it any other way.
DeleteBeautiful leaves, all in the green, one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteAlways love to see the green trees...and in all areas of Australia they are different, different versions/species.
DeleteThe tropical plants are extremely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteKisses
They are lovely, and we don't see the same where I live for the climate is Temperate.
DeleteWonderful photos, Margaret, both on this post and your previous post. And the tree ferns are stunning...I love tree ferns. We had a three of them around our house when my ex and I lived at Sunshine Beach.
ReplyDeleteI hope 2017 fulfills all your dreams. :)
I bet those tree ferns looked lovely, they do span out a fair bit.
DeleteThanks, not sure what the 'dreams' are for 2017 as yet.
Absolutely stunning. I love the lushness of rainforest.
ReplyDeleteOne can always count on seeing 'green' :)
DeleteIt is interesting that Tasmania and Cairns are miles apart yet there are similarities in their flora.
ReplyDeleteIt's the nature of our beautiful country....so different yet similar in many ways.
DeleteIt just looks so lush ... beautiful
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
