Flower I haven't seen before!

The Philodendron flower is new to me.  Saw one in the garden at a Caravan Park in Rockhampton, Queensland a few days back, plus many klms back.  Have a photo of the leaf as well.

We are now in Ayr travelling to Cardwell for two night then to Cairns and surrounding area for about 4 weeks.
Winter temperature today was 29 degC (82.4F)

    I have seen this flower here in Montreal in greenhouses, and it is quite different, and lovely. :)

    Love the Philodendron flower - it is not pretty but exotic and different.

    Many years ago when we were still moving often thanks to the Army, we were shivering through a Melbourne winter and got a photo from Army friends who had just relocated from Tasmania to Cairns. The photo showed S and his two boys lying in the clear shallow water on the beach,in July, while we were huddled around our heaters.
    I've had philodendrons before, but none have ever flowered. Our monstera did flower and it was quite pretty.

    I've never seen a philodendron flower but the leaves are very commonly grown as indoor plants here. They are very easy to grow -- you almost can't kill them. I never knew the flower was so interesting.

    Our philodendron hasn't flowered. I suspect it needs a different climate. Enjoy your trip. I am enjoying out winter.

    You are making good progress.Envy your warm temperatures.
    Up here at the Brisbane City Library on the river, it is freezing like
    this "sunny" morning. The winds off the river go straight through you.
    Philodendrons are really tropical flora. Some to the flowers are really
    quite something to see and varied in colours.
    They certainly abound in Bali, Guam, New Guinea, New Caledonia etc. and of course
    up in FNQ.
    Happy travels. Shanks is sure going well with that accelerator!!!!

    I've never seen the flowers of the philodendron, but the idea of being in the top end at this time of year is very appealing.

    Queensland is one of the world's great destinations for birders but I think it has been so frequently devastated by floods and typhoons in recent years some are reluctant to go there.
